My friend and I are both trying to make some Transformers-inspired armor but we would be wearing this for airsoft/paintball. So we are planning on starting with cardboard then cover it with paint. My question would be is there something we could cover the armor with that makes it so it doesn't chip or get destroyed after a few matches?

We don't encourage people to make armor for paintball or airsoft. The stuff we make is for costuming only. Most of the stuff only holds up to regular wear, which is basically wearing it. Plus if you every wear a set of armor, you find it really limits mobility, I would assume the same for "transformer-inspired" stuff, too.

Sorry, but many people won't answer the question. The reason is we don't want anyone coming back and blaming the 405th for injuries sustained while trying to fight in armor, claming we said it will hold.
