Im currently making a pepakura helmet and was wondering, what type of glue works best against fiberglass resin?
also is a dremmel tool necesary to cut through a visor or are the other tools that will work?
There are many variants of glue, i heard some people use this stuff called "Elmers" and some other stuff called "Rubber cement"
In my opinion, you'd be better off using a glue gun, i do, theyre very useful, as its extremely strong, and if you make a mistake, you just have to use the end of the glue gun against the mistake, the glue will melt and you can reposition it.
And no, not that i know of anyway. im personally not doing a dual visor, im taking 2 lamination sheets and heating them, then cutting out of the design and sticking it over the visor, but either way, for good sanding, youll need a good dremel
We have a great Q&A team that can help you in the future, As far as getting the visor cut, I STRONGLY recomend a dremel with a reinforced bit, but if thats out of your price range, tinsnips and a good exato-knife are your best friends.
if you want more time for your glue to dry then make sure you get a bigger hot glue gun.
the little ones are great for pep because they dry so fast but if you are laying down more than a dab or two you need something bigger.
the mini glue guns are usually around $5 the bigger ones maybe $10
Elmer's glue all the way from me. I use the standard white glue. Effective and cheap if you really are strapped for cash. However, if you don't have any money costuming will be very difficult.
Glue is ALL personal preferrence. Choose whatever your most familiar with and most experienced with. I use superglue and will only use super glue. It's not really a question you ask and get a definate answer for :/
