what is the best grit to start off with when sanding a fiberglassed helmet?

Just get the nibs off then Bondo it. Don't go crazy sanding the fiberglass. Bondo then sand.

I used 60 grit. It tore through the nasty stuff, then I went to 100 to tune it. 150grit to fine sand it
