Hi, I just downloaded the Helioskrill helmet .obj file from the community page (Owner: Ziebster). The model's default scale is (17.555329). This helmet appears in Halo 5: Guardians.

I'm currently trying to scale it but the scale that it came with was waaaaaaaay too small. What is the average helmet scale of most helmets and how can I properly scale my helmet. I've been to the scaling page and it consisted of an unprofessional, non-helpful tutorial on the topic. When I say unprofessional I mean like no actual real answer, People asking about it and then someone answers with a non-descriptive answer for scaling a helmet, fact any piece, its like some secret that only forum leaders can know. Reading it left me with unanswered questions. No offense to anyone.

A simple walk-through would be nice.
Thank you for whoever helps and is productive towards this post.

I do not own this helmet in anyway and am not advertising it as my own.
Credit goes to community member Ziebster and 343 Industries for the model.

The scaling tutorial does need some refinement, but it's generally a good place for you to begin. Unfortunately, there's no concrete method for scaling, since everybody has different proportions and what may work for one person might not work so well for another.

With that said: if you're scaling a helmet, my suggestion would be to obtain a rough, guideline-area measurement for the width of your head, from temple to temple. Use this measurement, plus perhaps a centimetre or two, to scale your helmet based on the width of the helmet's opening - use the 'measure distance between two points' tool in Pepakura 3 to adjust accordingly based on the widest point of the helmet's neck. I personally usually work out my helmet scales to +/- 27cm height, and then work around there.

I'd also advise waiting for the Helioskrill helmet to be edited somewhat - there seems to be a lot of geometry in the file that needs to be altered and edited.
