I play airsoft quite a bit and I have a replica acog scope and i want to make a flashkill or some sort of scope shield for it. It looks like a honeycomb kinda like on the halo sniper. I was going to mold it out of plastic but i figured a stiff rubber would work better since it wouldn't crack or break when it got hit. If anyone has any comments or suggestions feel free to post them. I also am wondering what a good type of rubber and mold silicone would be to use.

why not just get a strong metal cover in the style you just described?

another option is go to a scrap yard and get an old satalite dish not a solid one but one of those grate ones and cut it out from there or do what i plan on using for a grate on my mrk v and use the mesh from an old set of speakers
