Been a minute! Gonna be a bit less photo heavy today but still lots and lots of good info hopefully- I've hit a stride in the build that has us shifting gears a bit!
Readers familiar with the build so far know the main model source for the build up until now has been Aguilar, with some accessory hints from Titlewave. My helmet was also a Galactic Armory cast. As ive kinda felt out this build and finalized ideas of aesthetics and functionality, I've ended up gravitating towards Titlewave's Gen 1 marine torso as a base moving forward. I've printed it up (as well as his ODST chest addon files, BEAUTIFUL) and modded some- the two chests now adhere together with a PINCLIP installed at the detail segment of the marine chest- i'll post video once i've got some paint ad finishing work done. I've also upgraded my main printer to a creality K2 Plus like i utilize at work which has been a boon in speeding up this build some. Another thing that has given us a bit of a surprise is the creality slicer. with a download of the handel gothic font i was able to accomplish this:

Gears and I are very excited to see how professional this looks on the final armors, i also had to add some geometric mods to the back to take care of the pinclip. I am SO happy with how this gear shift has gone so far.I've printed of course the chest and back in rigid plastics, but the shoulder and flank "padding" has been printed in TPU for now.
Functionality has become such a major part of this build, from the usage of the pinclips and SNAP system and other miscellanious magnetic buckles to the fromthebrinkstudios pack and beyond that I no longer felt a straight up cast fit the functional aesthetic of the build anymore. Lucky for me, Titlewave last week released his PRO series Halo 3 ODST helmet, and i think i may have been the first to print it. Not sure how to post video (though if you're in my discord server you've seen it) but i printed one up so i could have a helmet that assembled just as satisfyingly as the rest of the armor is going along. here's an image of it on my digital headsculpt for now:

For now, the main holdovers from the early part of the build are the shoulders and forearms from Aguilar and the previously discussed legs- Not to worry though! some of the spare pieces will eventually find their homes on other members of fireteam gravedigger.
In the meantime some sanding and finishing and painting has started, i'm looking forward to having more news on that front VERY soon so stay tuned!
