Smooth On Alternatives

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I have printed CarterBuilder12's awesome halo 4/5 chief helmet awhile ago and I have been sanding and priming ever since and I am proud to say after 5 or less more passes it will be ready to mold! As much as I would love to mold with smooth-on I cannot afford it right now. Is there a cheaper alternative that is just as effective as smooth on or should I start saving money now?

im getting ready to make a mold of my chief visor and im going to try the same silicone i used on the neck deal. i will post up and let you know and post pics of it. but i have been so busy i have not had time to get this done but plan on doing it this week. yeah smooth on is a great product but can get expensive....
