So another german Spartan starts his first pep'd armor(PIC HEAVY)

Hi everyone,

Wasn't here for a really long time. But with the releasing of Halo:Reach, I decided to start another armor-project, which should be a custom reach-suit. (Juns helmet, Emiles shoulders,Noble6-arms,-legs-,shoes,-torso,Carters Combat-knife ) With less cardboard and more resin+fiberglass+bondo this time.

Awright, so I started off with a Spartan combat knife, which is already resined and bondo'd

my Jun-Helmet. Got some serious problems while pepping, so i had to mod it, with some cardboard. Also resined.

As you can see I glued in some supporting-straps to avoid any warping. I did this to nearly all parts, cause figuring out, that some hours of mind-numbing work were for nothing, really sucks.

It took me 10 days to come this far. As you can imagine, it was pretty tough. These days were like: getting up-go to work-pepping 'till midnight- go to bed an so on xD

that would of taken me atleast a month or something.
took me like 4 days to pep a forearm.
it looks really good so far. You seem to know to to pep and resin.
Just take your time and you will be on your way to an awesome Reach costume.

First thanks for ur reply. I think its really good that you took your time to spend 4 days for a forearm. (I wish i were that patient xD) Well I am not in timepressure or something, so maybe I 'll slow down my work a little, cause these last days were pretty intense i can tell... xD

Quick update:

Finally resined the outside of my chestpiece hard enough to seperate chest and back-piece(I think i'll do this tomorrow) ,but unfortunately run out of resin-hardener... X____x

The reach-assaultrifle, I started pepping is 80% finished.

Im pretty sure i made the same helmet and your right that top chunk is a pain to put in place. i got it but i was hard. good luck with your stuff, looks good so far.

Awright folks. I got some updates for ya.

It took just a couple of days to turn this:

into this beauty.

As you can see,its not complete yet. The upper section's gonna be the tough part I guess.

These are my kneepads. I choose thesetwo, cause the first two, I pepped, suck. xD

Last but not least my right shoulder-piece, which I choose cause Emile's sholders kinda rock

really, you think that's long? this is how long it took me to make the forearm- 2 months before reach came out and 2 weeks after it came out
other then all that- the armor looks great so far, keep it up

Hey guys,
Thanks alot for all the awesome replies so far

Here are the latest updates:
-I cut out the supportingstraps from my torso piece and wanted to seperate chest and back piece. But I dont wanted it to break, so
I decided to fiberglass the inside first. Cause just with the outside resined, it seems not that solid.

-Reach-AR almost completed. As I said before, the topsection is very hard to pep, so it seems like it's a bit warped now.
Will fix that by modding the ammo-display slightly.

-The resin-hardener arrived today so I can continue resining the other parts. And -if the weather's not too bad- I can also start with fiberglassing.

Ah and yeah my f****** USB-port broke, so it will take a little to get new pics uploaded , but i'll o my best to fix that as soon as possible.

As I wrote before I completed my Reach AR. Here some photos:

Dang, I almost broke my fingers on this one X__X


Now for the REALLY BAD news ,

I fiberglassed my helmet yesterday evening and *TADAAH* it warped X___X. Pretty frustrating I can tell. Right at the moment I'm starting all over with a new one. CQB this time.
Hope the warped one could be saved with some bondo or something. I will find out that later.

Maybe some of you got any tips to prevent warping while fiberglassing? Please tell me!

Thaks guys Well it took me a couple of days and alot patience to complete that AR.
As requested I got MORE PICS this time
