Do I care about saving the environment? Not really.

Public transportation themselves require energy from some source to operate, electric buses use electricity burned from power plants. Trains and subways too. They may not be "polluting" where they go, but they still use just as much energy from the power plants which then put out more pollution to fill the needs of public transportation.

The more people who use public transportation, the more trains, subways, and buses will be needed to accommodate people. The more vehicles, the more pollution.

On the other hand let's blindly agree with al gore and hand him a peace prize. seriously. I've heard in some schools they actually have to stop the video when they show it and point out the lies that have been proved blatantly wrong (which is anything he says that has any grounding in fact). Anyway IMO the world is going to change, whether or not we "cause" it. It's changed so many times, and it's going to change again, species will come and go as new ones thrive in a new enviorment and others fail as theirs vanish, this is not a human cycle, this is a natural one that's been happening as long as this planet has been habitable. The difference is now we are around we blindly and arrogantly assume that any change is caused by us.. We are just a drop in the bucket along for the ride. (omgz mars must of died from cars, stupid basic organisms and their polution!)

If scientist really believe in global warming, then why bother making cars that still run off gas? Why not make all cars run off some new fuel right now already?

Theres this guy in my neighborhood who has a 1973 chevy pick up truck, he modded the engine for 2 thousand dollars to make it run off bio disel, he makes the gas himself in one saturday afternoon and it last him for a month or two. He gets 40mpg using bio disel, the truck used to get 10 off pure disel.

It cost him about 25 cents to make 1 gallon of this stuff. And it burns CLEAN and doesnt harm the environment one bit. Cracking open his engine case, his carb, piston heads, and everything look brand new, the oil from bio disel keeps it clean and from junking up.

Plus his truck isnt "weak" it runs just as fast as it would with regular disel.

An average american spends 2-3k on gas a year for one car, 2k is what it cost to mod a car to run off biodisel, it pays for itself in the first year or two.

Biodisel is hard to find right now, but why dont they mass make it? Start selling it at gas stations rather than selling that e-85 crap which is 75% ethanol which doesn't give the car much power from the burnt gas.

e-85 isnt the future of gas, it still CONTAINS GASOLINE. Biodisel though is from french fry oil you can pick up for free at mcDonalds.

AoB, when we eventually run out of gas and we all start useing biodisel from gas station pumps, we are still goin to be paying our of our @$$ because our government here in the US only cares about makeing money, they dont give a rats ass about our "environmental" needs. So in the future biodisel wont cost you .25 cents because the government will start to market alternative fuels. If you go to your local eatery to buy their used cooking oil you will have to start paying them.

So it will go from .25 cents to $3.50 in a few short years I believe.

Big businesses and the government kind of work hand in hand for the big bucks.... Why do you think electric cars were being recalled? Because the gas stations and the government were loosing tons of money so they've started destroying these cars because of it. It was probably the most eco-friendly car around but now there are probably less than 100 of these electric cars around and non of them are owned by normal everyday people, they are found in museums or in the garage of some rich dude, like Mel Gibson.... I believe he has one of these cars.

Anyway I got off topic, sorry. There is no such thing as Global Warming and the US government sucks (I dont want to get PMs saying Im wrong because my dad has been with the CIA for 27 years and has tyes into our Whitehouse, I know what I'm talking about)

Blacrose, all goverments suck and are corrupt, but the U.S. is the best one around. I won't bash on a goverment that gives me the opportunity to live the life I want, even if I don't agree with them 100% on all issues. There are a lot of things that bother me, but when I think about it and the alternative lifestyles I would have elsewhere (or that my family members do have elsewhere) I'm grateful to live here.
