Tacky glue and fiberglass resin

I read that I needed a glue that won't dissolve, so that when I fiberglass it, it won't eat it up. My question is just if tacky glue is one of those dissolvable glues. I am about finished with my pep helmet that has been made with 110lb cardstock and tacky glue. I just want to know if I can continue using the tacky glue, or if I should use something different, and cover up the old stuff. Thanks guys.

I don't think it will dissolve.

But just in case, glue to seperate useless sheets together, then fiberglass them. You'll see

i used aleenes original tacky glue in the housings for my needler and it didnt

granted i used heuge amounts of it so it would stay because there were gaps

and the only fiber glass i did was just over the top of it and resining inside and between the gaps so it would just give it a lil strength

but it didnt for me

but i would do what spartan said and do a test

Really any glue will work when resining, except tape, most tapes will fall off or show up after painting as big indents everywhere.

tape = bad
glue= messy but good
no tacky glue shouldnt dissolve i used it on mine and it held together

Really any glue will work when resining, except tape, most tapes will fall off or show up after painting as big indents everywhere.

No, but if you make a standard pep suit (resin, fiberglass, some sanding, paint) then it will show up, and if it peels off, it will take the resin with it. I doubt it will peel if you resin 2 times on the outside.

I fiberglassed on the outside though so I'm pretty sure that the tape that i used on my helm wont peel.
