Hi! I have started to work on this MA5B rifle, in wood. I think its a litle "thin", anyone know any good way of making it a litle more "fat"? Also, i need some good way of placing the details. well, here som pics:

much details added :D

Well thats it for now :)

It does look a little thin. You could add 1/4" or 1/8" mdf or smooth board on each side depending on how much thicker you want it. It will also make the finish way smoother (less sanding) and no grain to worry about. Good luck, good start.

I second that, but other than that, great work so far!

You're doing it wrong.
I can't say I'm satisfied with the work you've done, but at least you made an effort. It just looks like a rushed job.
I'm sorry that I'm hard on the criticism, but it's the truth.

I suggest taking a GOOD look at detail photos of each weapon and draw it as carefully and detailed as possible. No slacking!

i agree it does look a litte rushed, but you do have the general idea down. like smick said, you should be able to add a thin layer of mdf or maybe some sheet styrene to either side, combined with bondo, and a lot of time, should be able to get a lot of details to shine through. don't give up, and keep up your hard work.

Yes, your BR is WAAAAAY better than your Magnum. Just keep learning, and you will make good props!

just how to do all the rises and dips in the wepon would be a little tricky
but it's really well done

Now i have ductape al over the frigolit, u can even hold it like it was a shotgun...

shotgun9.jpg

I place the other pice of cardboard on the frigolit, so its like a sanwitch, then i start taping to tape it together.

Now you gotta use more Cardboard to make all the details and such. The cocking Grip is not supposed to be flat. ;)
Ye know, im am also gonna use a cardboard tube, cut it in half, and put up where its suposed to be round, over the barrel. Yesterday i just did the "start" today im gonna make the details...

And here it is! I have done the tube, made a handle for the front, and i put some cardboard on the back, so it whoud be a litle "fatter" at the back. :D

ok your cardboard wepons are good but im liking your MA5B alot. make it thicker and hollow out an area for and LED ammo counter and it'd be a beutiful thing.

I have this idea, that im gonna cut a big square at the back, then when i place the two "flat-boards" on the side, i am gonna use that square of wood as the mag, then im gonna make somway that it "sticks" when i put it in, and so that i can draw it out, when i need to reload ;)
But right now i dont have any board, so im using what i have, and thats cardboard and frigolit!
