Reach has been good to me. Time has come to return the favour.

Alright everybody! Time to start posting my second build. This go around will be a screen accurate, scratch built Jorge 052 from Halo: Reach.

A few personal goals for this project include a 7'+ finished height, creating a vacuum table for the visor, some sort of functional cooling system so the suit can be worn for hours on end without cold down breaks, and getting this suit (and chain gun, of course) as close to game accurate as possible. The helmet will be made via pepakura, and the remainder of the suit will be mostly scratch built Eva foam.

A couple shots of the mk5 grenadier helmet being pep 'd. The model is by Forged reclaimer, and is scaled to a height of 320 mm

Next to my roommate's Jun scout helmet:

And next to my Reach EOD:

In 2 follow this. If I remember correctly, you're a pretty tall guy like myself, so 7ft should be pretty doable without too much work.

Best of luck on the build!

Yup, I'm going to get some popcorn to watch this one.

Followed. And as Jme said, I'm grabbing popcorn on this one. That pepping is really clean. Can't wait to see more progress.

Ya'll can keep your popcorn, but I'm also excited to see this progress.

Jorge is my dude. He's my favorite Spartan II, even over the Chief (sorry buddy, Jorge is just cooler). I'm a bit short (5'9")*, so if I were to attempt this, it probably wouldn't look too good.

*queue the "aren't you a little short to be a Spartan?" comments.

Ayyyy, it’s been a while since I started this thread, but it’s time to kick it back into gear!

So I decided that the pep lid I was building was scaled a bit too large (my reach eod is already on the large side), so the helmet is on the back burner for now. That being said, the foam work has begun!

You guys know the drill... no templates for this guy. 100% scratch built, going off of reference photos.

So far, I’ve started building the chest Armor.

I love it........foamsmithing and beer!!!! What a combo!!......But why Bud Light? Plenty of Canadian beers that are 10 times better...and 100 more in American beer.......and don't get started in on micro brews.......

Not all that surprised on how awesome this looks......

Bud Light is so that it reminds you of drinking beer so you think you're having more fun but it has none of the negative effects on your fine motor skills.

Hahaha I picked up a case a while back when my brother-in-law was in town, and I actually don’t mind it! Quite honestly, it’s just what I had in the fridge haha.

I wouldn’t quite call myself a beer connoisseur, but I do like to try new things! Luckily, there are a ton of craft breweries a stones throw away in BC, so we get a lot of cool options here in Alberta.

If you swing down to Calgary for Calgary Expo I can probably bring some fine Island brews out your way.

Small update! I’ve been on self isolation for the last nine days, so I’ve been able to plug away at my chest piece between renovations haha.

As per a suggestion from @Viper466 , I finally brought my little band saw inside to try it out on foam ( it’s a tiny unit that struggles with even thin wood ). I think I have a new favourite tool for foam work! Perfect bevels every time, and saves me a ton on razor blades.

Keep in mind, folks, I use absolutely no templates. I just build from looking at tons of screenshots.
