Just for the heck of it, I decided to come up with ideas for ways the armor permutations could affect gameplay while still keeping it balanced...

Helmets:

- Mk. VI, Mk. V: No effects
- CQB: Melee attacks on the head less damaging than normal. Restricted vision
- EVA: Larger range of vision (MUCH larger), however, damage to the head is a bit greater than normal (say, 3.5-shot BR instead of 4?)
- EOD: Very restricted vision (pair of eyeholes, come on), greater explosion resistance on the head area (if a grenade bounces and blows up in your face).
- Hayabusa, Security, ODST, Rogue: Feel free to make a suggestion for these.
- Scout, Recon: Slightly limited vision, default 4X binoculars.

Chest:

- Mk. VI: No effects
- CQB: Melee attacks made using knife (same damage as a Brute weapon's blade), but melees take longer to execute and the downtime is longer (Time before you can use the weapon).
- EVA: Faster aim time, but slightly more susceptible to any damage (Thanks helios!)
- EOD: Obviously enough, increased explosive resistance (includes rockets, fusion cores, etc.), but slightly restricted movement (slower when shifting aim).
- Hayabusa: Stuck on this one too.
- Hayabusa w/ Katana: Same thing as CQB, except using the katana. Slightly upped melee attack damage, but slower execution and longer downtime before using weapon again due to re-sheathing said katana. No other effect (Hayabusa chest effect won't apply here)
- Scout: Slightly less damage resistance, slightly faster movement.
- Recon: also stuck. Suggestions please.

Shoulders:

- Mk. VI: No effects (see the pattern?)
- CQB: Slightly higher melee resistance on the shoulder, melees executed slower.
- EVA: Increased aim speed, slightly more susceptible to damage to the shoulders (Credit to helios)
- EOD: Increased explosive resistance on shoulder/arm, but slower movement when aiming.
- Hayabusa: No idea.
- Security: Slight damage resistance to shoulder, slightly restricted movement
- Scout: Slightly less damage resistance on shoulder, faster aiming speed
- Recon: Stuck. Suggestions?

Note: Damage resistance means both bullets and melee. Melee resistance, obviously enough, is melee only.

What do you think? If somebody has a suggestion for any one of these, feel free to post it.

EDIT: Bah, elites. I forgot. I'll make those up later, lol.

EVA could restrict movement.
Hayabusa gets damage resistance to melee attacks only. Otherwise, no effect.

EVA was specifically designed so that it DOESN'T restrict movement, I think. More freedom of movement on zero-g ops or something.

Hayabusa, needs a "bad" effect to counter the one that you suggested, but it could work.

Good point. Maybe it's got less restricted movement compared to MKVI, but is delicate, or extra suceptible to projectiles?

Ah, there you go.

This is going to sound somewhat weird but I think the ODST helmet could have more resistance to heat and fire and such. Since ODSTs drop from space, even with the drop pod, their suits would have to withstand the heat from re entry right? So I guess wearing the helmet would let you be more resistant to fire bomb grenades, explosions, and spike grenades. Or you could also have them be able to see even with the flare bombs (or flash bangs, or whatever you want to call the flare equipment). Since ODST's go through re entry, wouldn't there be a lot of blinding light comming through the window (if there is any on the drop pods). So it would make sense that their visors would be able to block out that much light and they would still be able to see.

Security Helmet: Your equipment lasts longer due to being "secure". Yes I did mean that as in "secure" "security". So a bubble sheild, regenerator, and emp bomb would work longer than usual.

Hayabusa: You're harder to detect on motion trackers, because the ninja helmet allows you to be more ninja and stealthy.

ODST wouldn't be able to do the flare thing, because all of the helms have a polarized visor. That other thing, sure, maybe you just take longer to burn, but that's only the helmet so idk, if there was a chest perm then it would work better.
Security: Uh, no. Sorry.
Hayabusa: Mmm... you can just crouch.

If they put effects for the perms, I stop playing. It would ruin the game.

Hence, "Product of a fevered mind". This is me having fun.
