Spiker would be the SMG.
Mauler would be the ShotGun.
Carbine would be the Battle Rifle.
Plasma Rifle or Needler would be the assault rifle.

The plasma rifle isn't crappy.
It's one of the better weapons to dual weild with. Dual plasma rifles will take down a VIP's overshields in a heartbeat. I've used that "noob" combo countless times on Sownbound VIP.

Ever tried the SMG, plasma rifle combo? It is the best dual-wield combo in the game (aside from the SMG + plasma pistol...but that's just noob).

The plasma rifle roxorz, man.

Dual spikers worked best for me. Although a lone needler did the job quite well and the shotgun actually works. The pistol was very disappointing.

Actually no.
It took about 5 shots to the head to kill with a lone pistol.
It took about 6 or 7 when dual wielded. I guess they had to kind of balance it out.

The needler is equivalent if not more powerful then the assault rifle, just putting 7 needles into someone will kill them, thats power!!

the smgs in halo 3 (the beta at least) are better than halo2s (in my opinion) they shoot faster and when ur unloading with 2 of them, they make this awesome aound affect kinda like the ghost when its about to explode :shock: its pretty sweet
