Hi there,

I have been lurking around here for the last couple years on and off and decided to eventually join to get the most out of this. I'm really impressed by some of the work I've seen on here and I have been playing around with pep models for some time but never fully committed to a full build or started and got side tract a few weeks later.

Ok, so i started on the helmet which I will post below I got the file from Jico's thread of files that i can't recommend enough if you are looking for Titanfall files. You can find his thread here:

I plan to see this project all the way through to the end however spare time isn't something I have a great amount of due to work and my first child on the way so updates me be slow unfortunately. As a result I have been working on this in some of my lunch breaks at work (hence the untidy workshop in some of the images).

This is me working through the pep stage of the helmet, I chose to leave a couple of parts out in this one so I could add them myself later on instead of peping them and having trouble with them.

Once I finished this part I then moved on to fiberglass resin the out side and then adding matting and resin to the inside to harden it and give it a bit more structure. I was pretty happy with how it turned out but i think I could still use a bit of practice getting into the difficult corners and recessed parts.

My next step and possibly my biggest mistake was then cutting the visor out, I figured it would be better to do it while I didn't have a load of filler in the way but it seems to have just made it a bit harder once I moved to the filler stage. Although it may have been just as awkward.

Pretty much right after I cut the visor out i started on the filler and sanding as seen below.

After quite some time sanding and adding filler I gave it a coat of primer just to see where I was with it and sanded down a couple more high points and have continued from there.

The only parts I am having difficulty with are sanding the low points and bits that are tucked away in sharp corners, I have been using a Mouse sander for the majority of the sanding work but have also resorted to using standard sand paper and a Dremmel from time to time but I'm finding I'm not getting a nice finish with the Dremmel.

I have also started on some foam amour plates for this however I was not happy with the quality of my work so I will just start from scratch again and learn from my mistakes.

Any Comments, Suggestions or tips I would be more than happy to hear from you all!

Kind Regards, Ross

YAAAAYY!! Another Titanfall Pilot build!! The titanfall pilot helmets never seize to impress me. Here's a tip when fibreglassing, as opposes to the traditional resin-fibreglass-resin technique, try spraying the inside of the helmet with some spray on adhesive. After that cut the fibreglass mat and cloth into small pieces then sticking them to the inside of the helmet. This is especially helpful when applying resin as it would stop the mat from sliding around. This can also help the mat stay in place like in difficult corners and recess areas. Hope this helps! Would you mind taking a moment and checking my thread out? I can use some advice ;D

spraying the inside of the helmet with some spray on adhesive.

You sure this doesn't hinder the resin adhering to the paper? When I resin my peps it is quite obvious where the pep tabs are from the outside, because the resin doesn't penetrate the white glue and leaves a blank spot. I could almost pull those areas apart. Just a quick thought.

Hi, thanks for the tips Jen-A266 I'll have to give it a go with some of the other parts I have to pep, Unfortunately my progress have been very slow the last few days due to moving house but hopefully I will have a bit more to post shortly. Thanks for the encouragement guys.

Hey. good work so far! Trashing everything and starting over is sometimes the best thing to do. I did a Titanfall build almost Identical to yours with a solid resin helmet and foam armor plates. If you want any advise I'd love to help out!
