im going to start a marine pilot armor very soon and just wondered where i could get the right equipment in the uk?

Hey lets get started shall we :)
I live the in U.K aswell and I found it just as hard to get my head around what to get and where
First you'll need a Xacto knife and cutting board you can get them at hobby craft for like £5 for a knife and metal
ruler and £5 for a cutting board.
Next you'll need card I get mine from a small shop in my high street but im sure you can get it at a staples
or something. Make sure its 110 lb or 160 lb im not sure if its lb or something else just look for an number
between 110 - 160 this is the thickness of the card, to thick and it wont fold easy and you wont be able
to print on it and to thin and its jsut like paper.
Safty stuff:
A respirator is a 100% must its doesnt matter if your doing the fiber glassing out side you need one. You can these at screw fix make sure there
for fumes.
Gloves in B&Q you can get 100 vynle gloves for something like £6
stirring sticks (I use bbq kebab sticks you can get these in tesco's, asda or sainsburys for like £1)
A container of some sort to stir the fiber glass in, i use plastic party cups again like 150 for £1.
Paint brushes i get mine from tool station there like 50p each and you can re-use them after using fiber glass on them.
Use old colthes, it kinda goes without saying but still you will get messy and fiber glass fumes stick to your clothing.
Ear defenders when sanding other wise you will go deaf :(.

After that you'll need to fiber glass you armor. There are many many many different ways to do this but you'll
need to get everything at Halfords. I link what you'll need but it all depends on what technique you're
going to use. (This is the stuff I use)

Fiber Glass Resin:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_183753_langId_-1_categoryId_165625
Fiber Glass Hardener:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...B_C_TITLE=David's Fastglas Hardener&width=800
Fiber Glass Matting:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_161949_langId_-1_categoryId_165625
Fiber Glass Tissue (It doesnt matter really which you use but it helps to know where to get it):
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_161949_langId_-1_categoryId_165625
Car Body Filler:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_203155_langId_-1_categoryId_165625

There are so many tutorials on how to apply fiber glass and body filler but if you watch this guy called Ben Streeper
his video tutorials are really usefull that and check out the stickeys on the forums there just as usefull.
Heres a link to Ben's youtube channle http://www.youtube.com/user/iceagonakilya scroll down in the videos
and you see vids on peping, fiber glass application, carfiller everything.
After that your going to need to sand it, for this i use a mouse sander you can get these in B&Q, Hombase or maplin you a
low grit for the heavy sanding and a hgih grit for smoothing. Also you'll need a dremel or routery tool you can get these at B&Q, Hombase or maplin.
If you get any small holes or dents use a filler like this:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_171468_langId_-1_categoryId_165625
As for paint There are loads in Halfords, always get a greay primer and then the colour you want it to be. Paints from halfords are around £6 - £8
a can.
If there is anything else you need help with then just PM or write it on here.
Hope everything goes well and good luck.
