Hi everyone! I've been looking around for a voice amp/changer for a little while, and found some really interesting sites! However! they all price their voice amps/changers over $150-$200. which seems ridiculously over priced.

So, I was curious to know if anyone here knew of any voice amps/changers that were under $100? (and still understandable when spoken through)

A few simple things I found where something like these

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Portable-Voice-A...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2559c2d9d7

Any good news on any of them?

heres a little bump. i just went searching around the forum looking for ideas too. this is one i found

16 watts. not too bad. just wonder how to put a voice changer on it instead of just a normal voice... was starting to think of putting this behind one vent inside my Mk V helmet, and a small fan behind the other vent. Just an idea ;)

i like that idea, ive been looking for cheap programmable voice changes with no luck. if you find any post please

my sugestion is just buy one of those clone trooper helmet toys of of craigs list and gut it for parts

ahh, I was looking for one today.
I went to a Expo today and talked to a stormtrooper who had a voice amplifier, he said he got it at Walmart for really cheap.
there was one microphone, two "AA battery" size speakers for each side and they were really good quality.
If I get any info, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

The SW helmets have changers in them, not too bad. I took one out and replaced it with a 2 way radio. Pretty small circuit board. It would fit in a halo helmet easily enough. It would take a little modding, and at this time, Im not sure how to get rid of the stock phrases that are programed into the board.

You can get these helmets at Wal Mart for like 30 something bucks.

I'm also looking for some kind of voice amplification so people can actually hear me in armor.

Hello 405th. I joined joined your forum and at the suggestion of a member who was interested in gear from me. I am dedicated 501st member and the PR officer for my garrison. I have 3 approved costumes and have made 7 other star wars costumes but not anything Halo related but i may start once i do the research.

I am the guy that sells the Aker voice amp to the 501st. I also the guy with the ebay listing, amazon listing, RPF listing, and TDH listings. I would like to post the same sales thread on this forum but i have not figured out where the "for sales" section is. I sent a PM to the forum modulator.

In the meantime, you may contact me directly by email at familyjim72@yahoo.com if you are interested. I have sold over 500 aker voice amps, over 300 memorex wireless headset mics, and over 100 push to talk cables to the 501st in the past year. Here are some links were you can view my postings. My pricing is better on the forums....

Amazon Store.

you need a certain number of posts to see the classifieds section. Would I get a cheaper than Ebay price if I emailed you directly instead of just hitting the buy it now button? I'm pretty interested in placing an order.

I just got my gear in today (really fast shipping; ordered it Monday). It's awesome stuff. I got the small 10 watt voice amp, the transmitter kit, and a push-to-talk cable. The amp works really nicely, and will be easy to hide. It's small enough that I could stick it in one of the belt pouches on my H2 ODST, or very easily drop it in a pocket on my BDU jacket and wear it behind the chestpiece. It's almost small enough to put in one of the chest pouches on the front of chest, and if I made a pouch the same size in a slightly different pattern, it would fit just right. The transmitter and amp are both nice and clear, and don't have any noticeable distortion.

Overall, if you want a voice amp in your armor, these are perfect.

You do get a better price if you go through one of the forums.

I'm thinking of getting the 10 amp and placing it inside the MK VI chestpiece with the speaker facing inward towards my body. Would it still be loud enough to be usable like that? I could move it a bit closer to one of the arm openings I guess.

How are dimensions on it? Think I could mount behind a vent in my Mk V helmet? I'm not at home so that's why I ask. No way to measure my helmet lol.

It's too big to mount the amp in a helm, but it is small enough to go in or under about any chestplate. I tried my amp strapped to my chest facing out, and it could be heard through my big H2 ODST chestplate no problem. On a mk 5 you could put it in one of your belt pouches, probably. It's just over an inch thick, 2 3/4 inches wide, and 3 1/2 inches tall.
