Using Bondo/rondo Inside A Model?

Hey all,

I have made several HD pieces, and I am quite the obsessed perfectionist when it comes to air bubbles occurring between layers of 'glass and resin in HD pieces, due to the detail.

Therefore my question is this: Since the HD pieces are so detailed, would it be possible to resin the outside for structural integrity, bondo the inside to reduce detail and take up space where bubbles would occur, then continue with fiberglass and resin over the inner bondo layer? Has anyone tried this? Would Rondo-ing the inside work better?

Thanks for any replies! Help with this is greatly appreciated.

With my helmet I did like one thin layer or resin on the outside, then a bunch of layers on the inside, and on top of those filled with Rondo or Bondo as necessary. Worked well. That's how I'll be doing the rest of my pieces too.

Thanks for the reply!

But to be more specific, do you think it would be more wise to use rondo in smaller areas? Since I have never worked with the stuff, I was curious as to how viscous it was as compared to bondo. Thanks again for the reply!

It's entirely possible, and maybe could be an improvement. Give it a shot, and show us the results!
