1st Build We start here

So I’m actually going to start a armor project for the first time!!! Bad news: I don’t know where to start. To the 405th! So I got some reference pics and you guys tell me where to start sorry in advance if the resolution is bad.

Generally, the first thing is to decide what medium you are going to use. EVA foam and 3D printing are the two most common on our forum with cardstock and all other mediums (like Sinatra) being fairly uncommon.

Second step would be to find files. We have files available for free in our "armory" tab but without looking I can't guarantee we have all the files you want in the format you want (.pdo, .obj, stl. Etc). There are also a few people who sell files online in various formats.

Once you have those two things figured out, pick a piece and start building. Scaling is done traditionally with pepakura designer or a program called armorsmith. How to proceed from there depends largely on what medium you are using. Look through other build threads to get an idea of the process for your chosen medium and just start!

I look forward to watching your progress, and of course any questions- feel free to ask! Our group will help you along. Most questions can be answered by reading through other build threads tho. The more you read, the more you know. But if you get stuck, just ask and someone will help you out!

Good news, the mark 5 b is all built around a common base armor, so you’ve got the going for you. Random Ranger has a tutorial for foam kit on YouTube that would work very nice. Beyond that it’s finding the attachments to personalize your suit

Currently Researching on Props Thinking on going the classic MA40 and MK50 Sidekick. If anyone can find those templates for EVA Foam I would really appreciate it
