What type of padding do you suggest under the armor?

I am starting work on my first set of Spartan armor. I am currently 3D printing the majority of my suit. I have read a bunch of different things over what type of foam padding is affordable while also being comfortable. Any suggestions?

I’ve used upholstery foam and high density foam for suits in the past, sometimes spare bits from a floor mat fit perfectly as padding
