WIP Alignment Issues

Is anyone else experiencing alignment issues with a build? I'm working on a HALO 4 MK6 Master Chief build scaled down for my 4yo, and I can't seem to get the joins for the front and back plates of the chest rig to line up nicely? Attached a photo for visual reference.
