WIP Spartan IV Helmet and misc

I have been having a hard time figuring out which armor style I liked best. So I decided to try a few out. I'll post pics, but so far its just a bunch of assembled helmets. Different sizes, trying to figure out my sizing. I had started making costumes for the kids at Halloween but went wrong on the resin stage somehow and they didn't fit afterwards. Now the helmets are being turned into display pieces with painted landscapes and nightlights!
As soon as I get the pics loaded I'll post them. Although I would love to know how everyone gets the chemical odor out of their helmets! Still having an issue with that

The odor goes away eventually. Resin is a fairly strong toxic substance, so it's not surprising that it takes so long to dissipate. If you want to lessen it a bit, hit the inside of the helmets with some baby powder.

This is lookin' great man, but either those are some huge plasma's, or that's a tiny helmet.

They look more like the size of the Griffball bomb to me. But with the indent, they do look like plasma grenades.

Thanks! lol yeah the plasma grenades are for a friend of mine's birthday this month They are pretty big. Still working on scaling but they're so much fun to toss around!

The helmet I'm painting is very rough. It's partially Rondo-ed And my son fell on it at one point so I'm still making repairs. I wanted to see if I could get a scene to fit on that small of a visor.

Oh, ok. Also, I'm currently working on the combat knife's sheath. Any tips for those curves?

I was building this at 2 am while a friend played Reach, so I was a bit distracted lol. But I would recommend doing the curves slowly. I rushed it and had to reheat it a couple times to adjust. Also I did the edged first and that made it harder to get the curves right so do the curves first. Message me if you need any help! I'm going to be putting a small hole in mine so I can fill it so the inside of the sheath doesn't move around and I can sand the inner sheath so the blade doesn't get caught on the glue or paper bits after resin

I think I have finally found a helmet I like! It's the Spartan IV helmet by Harnor and Satchmo over in the Database. Just got it fully pepped and added a temp visor.
I think is going ot be my main focal point for a bit. The weather is clearing up for a few days so I should be able to resin it! And I have finally conquered the small image info lol

Alright! Weather started to cooperate and then turned rainy so I only got a little bit done on my helmet. It's a bit rough and I'll be sanding it down this afternoon. Noticed a few spots that will need a bit of fixing in this stage. Got the Rondo done on the inside a week ago.

And couldn't resist the light streaming in shot... que the aha aha music now
