Hello.
After much thought I've chosen my next armor.

To print a elite. The white one from Halo2 the shipmaster . Rtas Vadamme
Ive got enough time in my con cycle to get him done.

First parts are gonna be the legs......
No stilts . just super duper high heels and some platform with them,

I can print them as a very Strong part so that It docks in to my feet and has support .

Aloha! . first step is to scale it ......

this is gonna be Super challenging to fit
So first step is a rough scale.


MC to show how its done on my first suit.

OK so I did a few knee bends in meshmixer . Ya know some "insanity" checks for range of motion ect.

Ill need to choose the right chest armor. but it was a 18X scale . so I have that as a rough guide.
I suspect the lower body is gonna fit well. Its the upper I need to tweak so It looks right.


I am gonna admit . I wanna cry in joy. I have a really good feeling about this build.
I never made any thing non humanish in my life so this is kinda a thing Ive wanted to do for years.
I have Deep respect for the Elites . There honor is so strong .

I chose Rtas as his white looks so pure and noble.



OK here are the pre render fit tests.




Lower knee bed is too aggressive in the screen caps.
But you get the idea.
Just enough to have that look .

100 Micron layer height for all prints .
Sand and Acetone wash.....

First prints...The tail and spine. Legs may need some R and D. Hollow 5 perms . I am gonna fill it with foam.



Lower spine.. ETA 3H per part .

Are you going to deal with the inverted knees or just keep our standard human ones?

A little both !

Ive found a happy meduim that has the right effect but is not gonna be painfull.


THis is what Really made me think . " Can I ever cosplay a elite"

Darn near human eh !
Heck the neck is sooo short its totally doable !

IMO the balance of the digi effect is where the back of the human knee is forward of the front of the ankle.

This does require a platform lift kit but its not very aggressive .
Toes with a inch lift and heals about 5 inch lift .

OK so the lower spine part is done , Spine disk one is done . Disk 2 s on the bed

Ive got the last Spine disk wrapping up on the printer.

Here is what I have so far:

Pre paint 4H a disk

Mmm Shiny!! The lower tail was 10 H

OK Here is a slight update



Gotta love acetone !

First Back part of 3 are done .

I suspect Ill have the back done tomarrow!

Upper back done. So the spine is Fully printed .

Its gonna float on 4 inch elastic when finalized so the parts can move on there own and it will hide the zipper on the bodysuit !

Chest 001 and 002 outta 6 diced are done! Ive so far diced a quarter of the chest so that puts me at 24 parts or so for the chest!
less then half the parts that chief had .



INTERNAL NOTE TO SELF >

If I need a wider chest . scale the middle Front chest bridge FIRST up to 1.5 Inch max. ( more might look odd)

If more is needed then scale side bars in blender.
consider how User is gonna wear chest. Hinge again? Flex plastic!?! .
flex sounds slick! . be a ground breaking cosplay idea. Will flex stuff take paint well . Is it PLA based so will it smoooth well
Is there a way to hide it ?

upper right chest is done.

matching parts for the other side are printing . 001 is on the bed.
full upper chest buy Sat is very likely at this rate..




more Monolog..

SO for head. I have helmet from goodwill .

Use foam ( pink 1 inch and layers ) Sculpt jaws.

Use Fiberglas to make shells on jaws.
Use Latex coated Lycra spandex as dragon skin . paint as needed.

mount everything on the helmet .

V2 . make jaws move?
worth the time risk to make more work then needed.

pictures in the next few hours. The entire upper chest is fully printed. unfortunately Frys does not have any more white or nat ABS left. Thanks to me and all my bloody costuming ..

so I'm going to start on the thigh plates and make them out of white PLA because those parts are not structurally critical.


OK went to frys. NO PLA in white . Really !?

Ill have to order it in off there site as they are Super back ordered.

OK making more headway in CAD, I am Very happy with how the feet are coming along. I am doing some heal mods to fit better

I am gonna have HUGE feet!


I ve got some Green ABS to make them up ASAP as I need to get in my manly Heels and get used to them!
