Alrighty, so after a little while, I decided to make some additions and changes to the suit in the intention of making it a bit more accurate.
First of these modifications was to change the camo pants for something more in line with the game model. Its also a lot more breathable, so goodbye swampy pants during conventions lol
Second change I made was to swap out my belt platform so the panels stop swinging everywhere and stay in their proper place.

I tried my hands at making a sticker for the ODST Med Ref with my home printer. I think it came out alright ^^'
For the sake of accuracy for the character, I put O- on there, but I hope this will never have to be used cause that isn't mine
Now I just need to weather it a bit and seal/varnish it :)

Noticed the other day while doing a fitting that one of my little leg pouches had a cracked hinge, not sure how that happened tbh. Nonetheless, it kind of showed me that the integrated hinges I had modeled in those pieces may not have been as strong as I had hoped, so I decided to replace them with metal hinges.
Honestly, probably should have done that from the start, these are quite slick and sturdy.

Finally getting a chance to work on this ODST backpack kit from @Sean Bradley !
I need to keep a closer eye on this thread now. I have no idea on how to start on the odst backpack kit XD
Edit: Did a quick scroll through the rest of the pages and holy moly the build looks good. Especially the paint job

Happy as a clam I found this thread.
An absolutely beautiful build and I love how much detail you added behind each process!
Thanks mate, much appreciated !

Haha thanks, painting is something I've been doing for a while now across various mediums, so I like to think I'm rather decent at it :)
As for the "where to start", you can find the instructions on the etsy listing for the backpack. In all cases, first step is trimming and fixing the parts (if needed), then you start building it.

I would say the painting and weathering is better than rather decent ;)

As for etsty, i hadn't thought of looking there XD maybe i will tackle it during my vacation

Some progress on the backpack.
Managed to basecoat with black and dark metallic grey, just have to do the silver and the stripe.
I also sewed on the straps. They're foam pieces covered in fabric with a Nylon strap running on top of it. (I'll be adding the decorative buckles once Im done with them).
For the clips, I used metal cobra/quick release ones since even though they're a bit expensive, they look legit, are super durable and easy to use. I also managed to hide them fairly well on the shoulder straps.

That's pretty much it for now ^^'

So now you're going to carry all our stuff at cons right?

Only if you keep calling me Nathan Fillion

Anywho, backpack is now pretty much done, just have to properly secure the straps so they don't tend to go outward.
I've also added a worbla lining since there were holes on the sides and didn't want loose stuff getting lost. Plus I figured the texture may prevent objects from slidding a bit.
