A 10 foot long, 1 inch diameter pipe from the local hardware store: removing the black paint to expose the bare metal

Testing the fit of the pipe into the skull. Leaving the thread on the end of the pipe makes for a firm attachment point.

Eight pounds of Sculpy later, and I decide I would rather not carry eight pounds on the end of a long metal pole.

Using my Eight Pound Paperweight as a base, I cast a hard resin mold.

Inside the Hard Mold, I placed strips of Rip Stop Nylon coated in a nylon casting resin: This combo is a cheaper, easier to use, and less toxic than fiberglass and the resin that goes with it.

After each half cures overnight, fill with expanding foam and squeeze the two halves together. A final layer of nylon resin seals everything in and gives a smooth outer surface.

One Paintjob later and the ornament is complete

* I'll add the pattern to the flag fabric once I learn how to airbrush properly.

That looks great. Are you going to get the design on the flag?

I'm currently looking for airbrushing equipment. That will make it easier to put the design on without gumming up the fabric with common spraypaint. It will also allow for easier weathering of my spartan laser.

That looks really good. Going a little off topic, but how come you have 11 posts and already are an infantryman?

I know that they also make some fabric markers that might also work well.
