Zero's Gen2 Armor Build (PIC HEAVY)

Hello one and all I am back with another build, this time I am making a Mjonlir GEN2 armor. This build will be FULL pepakura with foam accents, and a full under-suit/Tech-suit. The reason I am doing a fully peped suit is because I have never built a full pepakura one yet, also this will be one on my 2014 Con Costumes that I will be taking to Phoenix Comicon and San-Diego International Comic Con, I may also wear this one to the Xbox One midnight launch. I have a few more costumes I want to do but I am focusing on this one for now.

Here is my build that I plan on doing

Helmet: Raider, and Fotus
Chest: Recon
R/L Shoulder: Scout
Forearms: Outer-plated
Legs: GX-89 Narrow

Primary Colors: Blue
Secondary Colors: Steel

So I have gotten a lot of work done on the pepakura portion of my Raider Helmet since I started it, so far peping it has been relatively easy but I am only a little ways into construction of the helmet. Well because I am still only the pepakura stage it and I don't have much to talk about we will just skip to the pictures

So that was about a week ago and since I have been waiting to post until the forum was updated, I have gotten a lot of work done on the helmet. I hope to have it done in the next few days, and I will start the other pieces in the next day or so. Also I will make daily updates on my Facebook page and YouTube channel along with here on the 405th. Any-who here is some pictures of the current progress of my Helmet.

Hello one and all I have a good announcement: MY RAIDER HELMET IS PEPED!!!! I know it is not the best looking helmet out there but it is one I am pleased with. now that Raider is done I can move on to my Recon chest, and Fotus helmet *looks at Fotus pages* dear god have mercy what have I started.

Good luck, The gen two armor still intimidates me when I think of how much more detail would need to go into the under suit.

You aren't the only one intimidated about the GEN2 under suit, but I have some ideas on how to modify my morph suit to make it work.

UPDATE!!!!!

Alright so now I have finally cut out all of the pieces for the Fotus Helmet, and boy was it a pain in the butt. For assembly I am starting from the horn and I am working my way down to the bottom. Man this helmet is a pain in the neck.

UPDATE!!!

Alright I know I have multi-posted... big-time but I feel this Fotus helmet is really coming along. As of right I have finished the horn and some of the top of the helmet, now I am moving to the back/sides. This has to be one of the hardest helmets I have ever done, my only hope it for it to fit and look good; now its back to work and get this thing done.

Thanks, Fotus has to be the hardest helmet I have ever made, and I didn't realize it but you are right about the Raider looking similar to a Samurai

Update!

So I have been hard at work trying to get this Fotus Helmet; hands down it is the most difficult helmet I have ever even attempted. Now I have made great progress on it and I should have it finished within the week. Now on some sad news I have to re-make my Raider helmet due to it being just about one inch too small well not I have to get back to work on my helmet so I will leave you with some pictures.

P.S. Depending on how well my two helmets turn out I may Mold and Cast them.

Update once again!!!

Hello one and all; thanks to a video that is taking forever to render and some insomnia it is 1:30AM and I am posting on the an update for my armor progress. Now let me start off by saying that

I HATE FOTUS!!!!!

okay now that that is out of the way I just have to say that this has been one of the most difficult helmets that I have ever attempted. Also I think I know how to make my weapons, but that will come later in a separate thread. Well now that that is out of the way lets go to the picture.

FOTUS IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe this, but I can finally say that my Fotus Helmet is finished. After a ton of super-late nights, a case (or 2) of soda, a bag of Doritos and a lot of hair pulling; I completed what has to be one of the most difficult builds I have ever attempted. This week I will begin work on hardening it and smoothing it out; once that is finished, depending on how it turns out I might make a mold of it.

On the other hand I am almost done remaking my Raider helmet (hopefully he right size this time) and I have printed out my Recon chest that I will start soon. anyway that is all so now here are the pictures.

Update

So I have been hard at work on this Fotus helmet, so far I have it Rondo'd now I just need to bet some sandpaper and sand it all to the desired shape. I know some parts look to be really bondo heavy but that is because some pieces warped as I was hardening it.

Holy mother of all Spartans. I had no clue how difficult the FOTUS is... and here I am starting this stuff out and I wanted to start with it! Right now I'm doing the Deadeye. I kinda figured it would be easier than FOTUS but my goodness I fear the mighty unicorn now. That wont stop me though... I'll grab that jerk and conquer it! ~gulp~

How much time do you think it took to put the pep file together for the FOTUS..? :/

don't be sorry for starting off hard, I tried with Locus for my first H4 helmet, switched back to my ODST helmet in 3 hours.

Good luck with your projects, I would say it took me about 2 weeks of work to finish peping it.

UPDATE!!!

Well today I have good news and some bad news. So I hardened and bonded my Fotus helmet and remade my Raider helmet, but sadly due to some issues with my peping and hardening the Fotus helmet was compromised is some parts and the side was even shredded while I tried to sand it into shape so not I have to go back to the drawing board with Fotus But now while I get back to altering the Fotus file and to hardening my Raider helmet.

Yeah I had to scrap the deadeye build I was doing and now I'm done pepping the Scout helmet since it was asked of me and I can see it's easier. I've learned a lot already, and I haven't even gotten to the part where I harden it. I'm still as excited as ever for your builds too though!
