ok one more fast update.

I have now finished all of the basic details of the railgun and have started minor detail work.

in other news i have also improved my gun hanging system for my torso.

i found out that i had 5 OLD hard disc drives so i striped the magnets out of them and created this.

DSC01443_zpsb18a7e88.jpg

the magnets here still need to be hidden.

DSC01444_zps742864f8.jpg

as you can see i have already hidden these.

and it works. :)

until next time...

Looking slick so far! The rail gun is one of my favorite weapons to use in multiplayer. Most opponents don't see it coming.

Keep it up!

I've really wanted to do something like this(the magnets) but wondered how easy/hard it would be to place and grab the weapon off my back. Let me know how it turns out

for those of you who wanted to see more of the mounting i have made a short video.

Nice vid. How easy is it to grab in full armor?

For me the Mount is in the same place as my hangers were so I have no difficulty grabbing the prop. It is really just a matter of experimenting on positioning, when you finish your armor take a picture of yourself reaching as far back as you can without breaking the armor and you will know where to put the top of your mount.

I'm hoping it will be a little easier for me with a foam build. I have also slightly decreased the size of the shoulder armor for more maneuverability. Thanks for the tip about taking the pic reaching behind myself. As simple as it sounds, I may not have even thought of doing that.

ITS DONE!!!

that is right the railgun is finished.

here are my final progress pictures of the paint process.
