I use rustoleum Matte enamel clear coat. (or use satin/gloss depending on preference).

You mentioned this brand. Does this look like the correct stuff Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Matte Clear Spray Paint 12 oz. - Ace Hardware ?
