UPDATE! Just started working on the body armor today. While taking a little break I decided to take some pics with the temporary undersuit to put up here, hopefully I'll have this thing done by today and painted tommorow. :D Constructive criticism/advice as always is welcome.

UPDATE, managed to get some work done today on the shoulder pad and right arm. Not quite done yet but it's comming along. I'm really rushing to get this thing done before the midnight launch of Halo Reach. Hopefully I can manage building a limb everyday, finish right arm today, build left tomorrow, and just keep working from there.

UPDATE, got a little more work done with the armor. So far, I have begun painting the parts so far and have started construction on the left fore arm which I plan to finish tonight. Tommorow I'm planning to finish the belt and possibly both thigh pieces. Then Labor Day, finish the shins and shoes. I will have to paint the rest next weekend. I'm really being pressed for time with this project. Let me know what you all think so far.:D

My attempt at attaching a noble team symbol on the left shoulder piece.

Again, the paint scheme I'm going for is blue/grey similar to Carters. It's what I had on my beta character and I wanted a scheme that wasn't like the regular noble six.

Finished pics of the suit :D. Still missing a balaclava or something for the neck cover but I'll get to buying that eventually. Special thanks to the California Costuming Group for all the support and this great community. Here's the pics. And any comments? I mean this thread has been kinda "un commented" lately.

This rules so hard... awesome job, card board or not... This is the type of stuff that deserves recognition...

What'd you use for the visor? Looks awesome!

Believe it or not but the visor is really a binder divider. I couldn't find a motorcycle visor so I "improvised"

Thanks! I hope to do more reach scratch builds, I was considering creating each member of Noble Team

Dude, that is pretty dang epic!

The only thing I have against cardboard armour is (not yours, just cardboard in general):
1. Don't fall in that pool, 'cause that would = soggy spartan
2. I don't like the way the paint jobs make it look like painted cardboard (duh, but still. it is nice when armour is convincing)
3. plus pep'n'glass'n'bondo is just my preference. ^^

Don't let anyone keep you down!

You will be able to walk up to the counter in style when you pick up reach, and I will not.

amazing build! one of the best cardboard builds ive ever seen. also do you fiberglass your armor? i also do scratch builds and i just cant describe how much effort you must put into this. cardboard armor will rule the world!

Really good work! I like the progression from your first suit to your reach build shows alot of dedication and your work is showing it.
You should look into the foam floor tiles as a building material cheap easy to put together with hotglue and superglue and it gives you more freedom to make smooth curves and such. With your cardboard skills it would be a breze!!

Cheers!

There is no fiberglass in this armor. It's all purely cardboard. And I thought I'd share this pic from the midnight launch, it's one of my favorite pics from the midnight launch.

wow i had no idea that you were the same guy that bult all those armors untill i read this thread, finally someone else who builds armor out of cardboard. i was originally checking out this thread to see how u did you armor so that i could use it as a guide to my jorge armor(made of cardboard) could you please provide either some tips as to how your cardboard armor is created(more specifically the helmet) or a tutorial. also if you were to make a tutorial to a jorge helmet i will make a complete ,pic heavy, tutorial to a reach AR with a mag, sliding bolt, and all the details you want, because despite the obvious apperancy that you are better at armor. i would like to feel that i am better at creating weapons from nothin but cardboard :rolleyes

Great work. I am starting to transition from peping to cardboard, there is a big difference. I Agree with tmurray, if you have time could you make a tut on cardboard armor making? And again great work!

dude for a scratch build that is f-ing amazing! really well done, can really see you skills have improved over time. Big well done!
