I don't know if I've posted in here before but I decided to cycle through the last few pages and right when I hit the photo of your thigh pieces with the cod and abs I literally uttered "Holy sh*t that looks amazing"

Looks SUPER =P Foam is amazing! Are you using the very thin sticky foam from Hobby lobby, (sorry for nooby question) I have a foam suit myself and would love to make details alittle more easily,,, im tired of Sanding into foam... =P

And where did you get the file for the Chest piece? Custom made? - I'd like to start working on my wife a suit... she is 5'2 and 100 pounds... Hopefully you can help with some scaling and files? =D (girls sizing seems tough) So please help =P I'd be super happy! Haha, anyways- KEEP IT UP!!

-Only do this if you have time... I know armour building is extremly busy :)

---If you get bored watch my Rocket Launch Video ------> http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/36249-(VIDEO)Nogood-s-Home-Made-ROCKET-(VIDEO)-!!-must-see

Thigh attachments looks great!
No mini-updates allowed!!!
We're more of a "super sized" croud!!!

Once again, great work and awaiting more!
Cheers,
Cereal

My thread. I do what I want! OwO But here's an update anyway.

I finished my thigh attachment. Thanks again to everyone who provided links and helped and such. <3 It's not completely accurate, but I figure, it's my armor so I can do what ever I want. =P Having pre-made patterns helped a bucket load. This is the first piece besides my hand gaurds that are completely out of Foamies. The only exception are the side clippy things. This took longer than I thought it would. >_<;; But I'm glad I made it, cuz oh yeah... I made it functional. It can hold things for me like my phone. haha. It has a sort of "lock in" mechanism I made out of foam and foam core. Workssss.

@Macattack64 :
--- Thankyou. ^///^

@ Nogood:
----You can buy foamies at HobbyLobby, but I buy mine without the sticky side. It's not as permanent or reliable as hot glue. I buy the large rolls of craft foam from Joanns'. You can get a big roll for about $8. As for the armor, the chest piece I had help with when it came to the sizing. My friend *Kirrou downloaded the female file and adjusted it to a couple pictures he took of me to get the width right. I did the whole pepakura model with cardstock, and after judging that it fit me, I "transferred" the pattern to foam. There's really no set tutorial on foam yet, but patterns help a lot. I'm actually not much bigger than your wife. I'm 5'5'' and 110 lbs. XD

EDIT: Crap. I just realized I'm missing little doo-hickies on the lid... =_= whatever. I'm going to bed. I'll add them tomorrow.

Yes ma'am!
Your thread, your rules :p
As far as "not totaly accurate" goes, I for one like the personal touches that make a build unique!
The accessory pouch looks phenominal! Great work!
Cant wait to see the finished product.

Also... How did you go about reinforcing the lid, so it doesnt get stressed from the opening and closing?
(have never worked with foam myself) so, dont know if this was a dumb question. Lol

Once again, looks great!

the tactical case looks legit! I love that you made it functional so that you can hold your cellphone, ipod...plasma grenades and such xD

I backed the entire thing, piece by piece with some cardstock. It makes it more stable. I just have to be careful not to crumple it with something heavy or bump into a wall. >.>

@Annanymous:
Lol! I'll totally keep my plasma grenades in there.

Wow that is beautiful I live the idea of using the craft foam for the entirepiece.

Amazing work as always roxy :) can't wait to see this little beauty finished as this is turning out to be the best foam suit out there! What are you going to do for a weapon or have you not thought that far ahead yet?

@drack:
Weapon? ... I'm not thinking that far ahead. I know what ones I want, but I want my armor done first.

UPDATE.

Boots are practically done. I need to test them, walking around and such to make any adjustments. The strapping probably isn't strong enough, but who knows. I did this over 3 days of work, I think. Again.. no patterns, but this was an easier build than I had previously thought. I looked at tons of references, including HaloGoddess' progress shots of her own boots.

I went from the ground up. I did 3 layers of foam on the heel, sandwiching. The toe only has two layers. This gives me, with the sneakers on, about 3 inches added to my height! I go from 5'5'' to 5'8''!!!! 8DD Sneaky, huh? =D

Getting the curve on the toe was the trickiest part. Using some smart beveling and heat forming takes patience, lemme tell you! I was lucky to get it right on the first try.

Annnnnnd Completed!

The trapezoid extension pieces were also tricky. It took a while to figure out the angles. If you look at it, the foam is thinner than regular EVA. I actutally cut the foam in half here. >.>

I may add one or two details later, but for now, I'm happy with it.

Next comes the shins. I may need to wait for my friends to print out a pep file for me. >.> If they don't come for a while, I'll just do the knees.

Hey Roxy,
The boots look fantastic! Great work!
Howeve, there is one thing that worries me on the level of 'function';
Where the sole of the boot is adhered to the front of the boot. At the end of your stride when walking, the heel naturally comes off the ground and pressure is focused on the ball of your foot, placing stress on the seam where the two pieces come together. What concerns me is that the pressure will want to tear the two pieces apart.

This could just be the wheels of paranoia spinning in my head!
However, one thing that I can think of which would combat the stress of the natural movement would be to use a piece of thin, dense foam which wraps around the whole top of the foot and is fused between the two front sandwiched pieces of the sole. This would help to reduce the pressure caused from walking.

Anyway thats my two cents!
Once again, looks great!
Cereal.

Te quedo re linda las botas, More inspiration to encourage me to do mine, maybe .... Congratulations you make it look easy

you rock keep up the good work roxy i will be keeping an eye on you "no stalker" lol but other than that you never stop amazing me keep it up

Your boots are looking super cool. That toe seam is craaaazy! It makes my brain hurt just looking at it :p. Are your sneakers now permanently fixed in the boots? If they're permanent, is it tricky to tie them at all?

Can't wait to see how those look with the shins!

Do those boots come in a size 11? :p cuz they are saweeeet!!! Also curious bout the craft foam, I have never seen it in a roll, may i inquire as to where you got it?
