wow forearms and helmet turned out really nice man
Thanks guys! And here's an update! I painted the helmet and made myself a visor.
This is it with just its flat base coat.
And here I am doing some posing with the helmet on and my finished M45
There are other parts that are done, but they aren't all painted yet, so I'll get you all a nice picture of them when they are all done up nice.
Expect LOTS of quick updates over the next week while I push to get the last bits of my costume done Before Cherry Capital Con, May 25th

Yeah sorry guys for the triple post, but I have an update, and its been a day with no comments, so I figured it'd be ok to triple post. anyway here is the update:
UPDATE: 5/15/12
I finished the helmet today, with its new addition of some vinyl decals thanks to our vinyl cutter at school. Here's how it looks!
This image was taken with flash, so you could easily see the decals, but the colors are terribly off!
This is no flash, so you can see the real life colors.
The number on the back is my own made-up UNSC Service Number
And there you have it. Now to get to work, so maybe I can finish it by this weekend.

Thank you, and I'm not too worried because I don't really plan on doing any extremely physical tasks in this costume, I mostly will be just walking around the convention floor.
Also, here's an update on my chest armor. The ODST upgrade parts have had their mounts built, so I can easily swap between Army Regular and an ODST. Just a little feature I thought I might add so if I ever decide to do film.

And this project is wrapping up as I just have the shoulder mounts left to build and I'm calling it done.

And I'm finished! *FANFARE* I'm so satisfied with the look! But rather than me just talking about it, I'll show you the pictures my sister took of me at the convention yesterday.
I have no idea of the name of the guy in the Iron Man suit, so if anybody could identify him that would be cool, cause Id like to give some recognition to this guy for his amazing build!
Also I am in no way finished with this suit. Its at a good point to take a break, but I plan to come back, and rebuild some pieces, like this thighs, and torso, and also make other parts I couldn't get to, like the vest underneath and the adornments on the belt. Also I want to make a proper set of gloves, and rebuild the forearms so they aren't so small.
But right now Im just going to take a break and focus on enjoying my summer vacation however I want to before my first semester of college in August.

It definitely was foam. Did your friend say anything about going to Michigan for a convention?
i dont recall but i havent seen anything from him in a while still nice work forge
