Sooo...This is a build that I've been wanting to do since the first time I saw it. I know that you've probably seen several other builds of this knife going around, but that okay. This was not meant to be the next ground breaking new prop out there. I just wanted to build it.
This was a combined effort between myself and another awesome member of the 405th, and Stony Props, Justin Branfuhr, aka @JUSTINIAN 117. He lasered the parts and so graciously glued them together for me, then I took it from there.
Without further ado, I present to you our version of the Hunter Melee knife from Destiny, complete and ready for molding....
Justin started out by lasering the parts, and using his super accurate gluing skills, glued the layers together to form the following...
It was then shipped to me. I started by taping off the details areas, to keep them clean, then it was time for a little filler action...
It started to shape up pretty quickly. I used small needle files to shape the blade, and other areas around the knife...
Here it is, all glossed out, and ready for molding...
I'll be ordering the clay for making the mold soon. This will be my first box mold, but I'm getting great guidance from Justin, so I see no issues with it turning out great. Thanks for looking, and as always, your comments are very much appreciated!
