Just so I don't confuse myself, here is what is going on as of 12/31/2011:
The top half is finished all the way down to the thighs, and you can get it here (I lied about releasing the .objs when the suit was completed.) There are some problems with the geometry and some detail I would like to add, so it isn't the final model.
This is a .obj file, which can be imported into pepakura and unfolded yourself. Theoretically it should fit a person depending on how you scale it: that horn on the head screws with everything.
I will eventually be investing in pepakura as I respect the company far too much to pirate the software. Then I'll give you all some nicely scaled individual files, won't that be fun? Now to watch some Sweeny Todd.
ORIGINAL POST:
I got a little bored today, and my imagination wandered to my anime shelf, where my Guyver boxed set stared at me until I decided to make some pepakura friendly .obj files.
So here's the chest. I used a Daz3d model as a reference (it had a bajillion polygons) and managed to make the monster at a weight of 1142 polygons.
and a comparison to Royloo's 3d model which weighed 10,102 polygons O.O
Did an unfold test in an unregistered pepakura. Doesn't look too hard, huh?
Will release the .objs when an entire suit is completed... or I abandon the project![]()
