Newest project... Halo 4 Spartan helmet WIP

been awhile since I have been on the 405 and since I have done any new projects so i decided to start a new project today, Halo 4 Spartan helmet. Half pepped today and should be done tomorrow (pepping) after that if the weather is warm enough where I am I will be moving onto resin, glass, and rondo.

thats all i have for the spartan helm. trying to finish up the MKV right now which is looking like this

I take alot fo time to do anything at all, i only work on these projects for an hour or two a day. All comments are wlecome. Want to say thanks to everyone on the 405th who are kind enough to put out the files and the tutorials. Too many to list but thank you guys and gals!

thank you skullptura, when i get farther ahead i will post more as they come, just moght be a bit slower than others lol. I am 30 with 3 kids at home and work full time. trying to make my workshop for projects at the same time. slow process for me but i like it that way. i dont have too rush anything at all lol

Lol I hear ya. I don't have kids but I work a lot too. Weekends I tend to hang out with friends, just to say I have some kind of a life lol. But I am doing my 405th duty. Trying to get them hooked on paper and foam crafts. Rofl

not much of an update tronight, kids had me going crazy but here is what i got done, just got the cheeks left to do.

hopefully i can start the resin and fiberglass process next week.

This looks really good. Nice clean pep work. Hope you get the time to do more. Kiddies can be a handful I guess.

no pictures tonight due to a long day of fishing and the smell of resin is not pleasant in the house but i did manage to finish the pep process and slather one coat of resin to the helmet. I printed the chest piece and will be starting that tomorrow night. see all of you tomorrow.

yeah fishing skully lol (okay that i call you that right??), one of my main hobbies. here it is resined and fully pepped, one more coat of resin than onto fiberglass and rondo next

printed out the chest piece and started pep but not anywhere far enough on that to post pics yet.

Hey man awesome progress with the helmet there. One question though. Are you going to bondo the outside all over or just parts. It looks like its gonna be a handfull for sanding some of those inner edges and surfaces. It makes my shoulder ache at the thought of sanding that lol. Definately keeping my eye on this project.

I will rondo and glass the inside and for the outside I will be doing small light patches of bondo in sections as too get the detail right and not have to sand too much. I am also taking cereals method of carving out exceaa when its in a clay like stage to minimize sanding as much as possible. Thanks for the kind worda skully

not much for an update tonight. helmet is at a stand still until i go to the local home depot and buy more material. need to buy more fiberglass and the kids knocked over the resin which i was working with and left open next to me lol. darn excited buggers wanting to see my progress, before i could even progress :/ anywho i decided to start the chest piece and it is quite the doozy. didnt get much done but here it is, believe me when i say the pepping for this is quite crazy

i imagine the sanding is not gonna be fun on this one but the end progress will be rewarding. it will give me time to think of a paint job i guess lol.
so tomorrow after work i will be getting more materials for the helm and officially start the reinforcing process along with keeping the materials and tools away from the kids feet. goodnight all.

been a couple days and have only been able to work a couple hours on the spartan 4 helmet. rondoed, glassed, and partially bondoed the outside. taking care of all the big flat sections before i get to the smaller sections. onto the pictures.

So thats what i have for now, hopefully more to come after the weekend is over. enjoy yourselves, keep building, and happy halloween!

thank you Hyper!I love your projects, they all look great. So not alot of time has been spent on the helmet due to responsibilities this weeked but i did manage to do a couple hours of smoothing, sanding, and more bondoing tonight. not sure how i am gonna tackle these really tight areas but I shall find some way

sorry for the double post but its been awhile. Between halloween and travels i haven't been able to work on anything until tonight. her's the pics

first layer applied to the new sections, i cut the tabs down by the top just like hyper and sir tsaboc did. closer match to in game reference pics.

i am filling the steps on the nose piece to closer match some reference pics I have been looking at
