Hello everyone. The names Vision and I'm here to start off a WIP thread for a Jackal. This is a project that will be done by myself and a very good friend of mine. There will be lots of pics of the build being posted as progress is made. The goal right now is to have this done by the time PAX Prime rolls around later this year. Right now the main goals are the jackal, shield and atlest a Plasma Pistol. I would like to get a needler made also but only time and money will time. The first pics will hopefully be coming in the next few weeks and I hope you guys like what you see. Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think the forum would've preferred that you waited until you had progress pictures before making a thread, especially considering you say it'll take a few weeks before the first shots come in. =P Just a heads up next time, and good luck to ya!

I cant wait to see it. Its very risky and brave to start off with a costume only 1 person has done before. But I believe you can pull it off. Which jackal will it be? Halo: Reach? 3? 4?

@Statyk I say a few weeks to cover my ass but I actually hope to have something up this weekend of the very early stuffs

@TheReconSpartan We are leaning more towards the Halo 3 Jackals cuz well there are probably the coolest ones. The Halo 4 Jackals are to Godziliay for me and the reason for doing the Jackal is actually because of no one else doing one and my body type is actually really close to what a jackal would be irl.

Alright so heres the first update to this build. We are starting with a duct tape dummy and going from there.

and heres kind of a mockup of the legs when they are done

Equinoxx here (that 'very good friend' mentioned above.). i'm the sewer Heres some WIP shots of what we got done today as far as shaping the legs go.

here's the legs, covered with one pant leg of some pjs. there's the basic form of the padding to add the digit-grade look to Vision's own legs. Could have gone the stilt route, but we wanted comfort for prolonged wear.

Heres the foam we used to shape. The picture on the left is the foam freshly cut and labeled to where it will go, and on the right is it sewing into its little fabric cases, for sewing onto the pants.

and here's a shot of Vision wearing the pants in my very messy room. the plan for tomorrow is to foam the feet (onto those goofy white shoes he's wearing), and get some better shots in the daylight, and hopefully some movement video.

This is relevant to my interests! Very nice idea with the duct-tape dummy!
The bend legs look awesome, nice illusion.
