Well I half way finished hardening the backpack base. Here's some pics with my helmet chest and backpack unit on. Sometimes the bottom of the helmet rubs/hit against the backpack piece, and or jorge torso. Once, i found the sweet spot, it dosen't hit at all, unless i look a 90 degree left or right.

Any feedback are welcome.

This looks great so far! I can't wait to see the finished product! I've been wanting to see someone do a sharkface build! Glad to see you're working on one.
Happy building!

how does the backpack feel when it's on? heavy I would assume...it may not seem like much but after walking around for a few hours if you're costume isn't balanced you'll start to feel it. We're you going to add a counter weight in the front of the suit?

Well I'm going to continue with my project. Planing to be done by October, Grand Rapids Comic Con or Youmacon. So this going to be a Reboot, but with foam! I wasn't too happy about my pep work on the torso and backpack unit. I'm really happy about my foam work so far. I know its not the best, but its a improvement. So here's the the state re-work backpack so far...

Sounds like a good Idea, to add a counter weight. Thanks

If you want to know the reason why I stop this build in August 2013. Car accident, was NOT my fault. Other Driver didn't see the Stop sign. Wasn't injured, but I was depressed about losing my car. I'm back on track now. Hopefully I will post more in the future.

Sorry about your car, man. I've had that crap happen to me (also wasn't my fault). Glad to see you're bringing this back! It's cool seeing people work on characters like Sharkface, who were only around for a few moments, but are still so recognizable!

man the sheer size and scale of that torso is incredible. that's gonna be awesome when you're finished. the helmet already looks crazy good

In your 3rd post you mentioned your visor wont fit in your helmet.
I believe that is because your helmet is made from the Hugh Holder model rather than the Sean Bradley one. I've looked at them so many times that I can kinda tell them apart.
I can't tell if it is Hugh's V1 or V2 design thougb.

Hugh has a tutorial on here somewhere on how to make a quick and easy visor for ODST helmets. Make sure you look into it before fully committing to a new helmet.
But if you do decide on getting/making a new helmet, I might be interested in the one you have. Super short on cash right now though.

One last thing... find Hugh's build thread, it should have the related files on the thread, you could make a pepakura of just the visor and then vacuform it.

I would assume its version 1, since its a old Steven Lee helmet from Stony Props. Not sure though. Any ways I got a Flexible Metallic Visor material from Icon Props and over lay them on my vacuform visor from the Stony props. The visor is little more darker since it another layer of tint. Now i just need to add the shark teeth. Motor city Comic Cons was a few days ago, had a great time. Black%20visor%20odst_zps81lkyo5h.jpg

OOH. I love the scheme you went with for your helmet colors. The red really pops on the visor and sides. I also dig that you did the bicep bases for the shoulders, as thats a part a lot of people miss on the ODST!
