Majora's Mask Build

Okay kiddos! So any Zelda fan who looks at this thread is probably already aware that Majora's Mask is getting a remake for the 3ds! I had actually been planning on building this for a while, and a while back I started on one using the trophy model ripped from smash bros Melee, but after learning about the remake I knew there was going to be a heavy interest in this mask so I decided to give up on the old one and start new. Recetly I have been getting into 3d modelling and I made a few tweaks to the original model so that it would be slightly thicker and so that the eyes would not be as bulgy. My goal is to finish this by the end of the month and to get some affordable raw casts up on Etsy.(which means I probably won't be giving the file away...Sorry)

So far I have pepped resined and rondoed the whole thing. I also started grinding down some of the sharp edges from the pep file to prepare for the bondo work.


Here's a comparison to the old one I made. The old one might look better now, but that will change very soon.

nice job, how are you going to attach the spikes that go on the end of the mask? Anyways you're do a great job.

Well, I didn't expect many replies to this thread (maybe I should've waited until it was finished), but I'm still working on the mask as my main project for right now. I got most of the bondo work out of the way and I have started on the horns. I will probably make only the two horns and just mold and cast those.

Nice and smooth lol. Is this going to be a display piece or are you going to cosplay with it?

Yeah, it's going to be more a display thing. I don't really think any skull kid cosplay looks good unless you're about 10 years old, or a really skinny, short girl. I will probably punch some holes near the edges of the eyes and put some black see through plastic so I can at least wear the mask if I want, but that's not for sure either.

Wow man this looks great so far. I love the mask. I might have to check out your etsy when its finished so i can get my friend one. Its he favorite zelda game.
