Let The Madness Begin, Or My Warthog Build.

I would buy it for whatever you mainly plan on using it for . Its always nice to have more than you need, but if youre mostly using it for light duty, a smaller welder is more efficient. - Dan

Ador - Hockey Puck body mounts .. they work great. :D Sorry if im a little picky on the welding - my cousin and I have been customizing cars / trucks for a long time now and we're always criticizing eachothers welding .. he's a tradesman Pipe fitter so thats his job. Looking good so far...

    Ardias' Mark 6

I see what youre getting at. I dont like using vaseline for molding, gets messy. We usually do this with fiberglass and resin so it doesnt stick - Aluminum foil works good for this purpose also, but Ive never tried it with body filler. - Dan

    Prop Making Question

You can resin over any foam after a skim coat of body filler. Resin cure time wont be affected. - Dan

Ive tried to those made in China Chop saw's .... wouldnt cut through anything I have in the yard. Are you using Flux-Core wire ???? WHERES THE GAS ?!? It would also help a lot if you used a grinder or wire wheel to hit up the metal and Frame before welding ... you want solid Penetration...

How about the wheelbase ?? Is it going to be to scale with the Warthog body, or were you planning on shortening the frame, etc .. ? - Dan

Weapon Builds. Canon Vs. Custom- The H3 Shotty

That is looking great so far. Makes me think I should have paid more attention during Drafting classes in high school. :rolleyes - Dan

That is a lot of metal there ... looks like a fun project. Is that a Chevy S10 Frame all of the metal is sitting on top of ??? :D Were you planning on modifying the suspension at all, or leaving it stock until the new body is builtup ? - Dan

    Project Odst!

Yes, the P95 indicates that it is Oil resistant, and will filter 95% of Airborne particles. It will work good for sanding body filler and fiberglass. It works fine for paint as in Spray paint, house paint, etc ... but not paint sprayed out of a professional Gun. - Dan

Warthog Possible Suspension Close To Game

Looks like youre doing a good job so far Bevbor - I like the way you are using coil over shocks on what appears to be some type of Cantilever suspension. I dont know how the physical Drivetrain assembly is supposed to be on the In-game vehicle; of course the game takes place 500 years in the...

    Tracker's Odst Progress

Were you not going to fiberglass the inside of the helmet ? I would be afraid of the body filler cracking, especially while you are sanding it if the structure underneath is not rigid. - Dan

    Steel Armor

If you have all of the tools to do this, and your dad is a master craftsman .. you have a huge advantage. Metal brake, and an English Wheel would really make the metal take shape and come alive - but youre working on a small scale. If you can TIG weld that is the way to go, but MIG works great...

    2nd Odst Helmet Attempt ..

Moving along .. finished the Fiberglassing, Cut out the Visor, and started the long process of using body filler and sanding ... I love sanding. :rolleyes Its starting to take shape now. I think on the backside of the helmet, I will be doing a little work to make it less rounded and...

A Note On The Polyester Resin Curing Process

I believe it is best to use 1% Catalyst - no more, no less. Too little catalyst could be a bigger problem. :rolleyes - Dan

    2nd Odst Helmet Attempt ..

Thanks, its getting easier the second time around. The Black is actually Resin - I just put a little Pigment into the resin to give it color. Ive already started laying fiberglass strips in the inside of the helmet, just taking my time - I dont want this thing to warp. - Dan
