    well if ur still thinkin about pickin up some metal i wouldnt recommend aluminum(difficult to solder and very weak if it manages to stick) i would recommend galvanized steel sheet metal like 26 gauge real light easy to paint as well as solder

    i would go back and use super glue, or hot glue just for insurance so that all ur tedious and time consuming work does not go in vain. and as i can see from ur pictures it would be a terrible loss on such great progress keep it up man :D
