I began using fibreglass matting the other day and I have to say.... It is kind of hard, as I was trying to do the whole marine back plate thinking "OMG I'm running out of resin", "OMG its lifting...." and "OMG its sticking to my hands more then the paper"..... Really nice so far!!! The Scope base was annoying, the mounting bracket was easy tho.... I just glassed mine and it is turning out well.... No where near the amount of work you have done! XD Keep up the great work, can't wait to see it done!!!

I could barely see the detail in the first picture... but I would leave it out. Looks great still!! Keep it up!!
