    Soft Parts EVA foam padding

Been awhile since I've posted here so I wasn't sure where else to ask so thought soft armor would be best. I'm currently finishing up my Iron Man MK VI suit and have opted to use EVA foam as padding. However, I'm not sure how much I need. If anyone knows approximately how many square...

Transformers Build (Sideswipe) Finished! Pics on Pg 2

Sorry for the lack of updates lately but was busy finishing up for the premier! We had our IMAX. Midnight showing last night and was a big success. Here are some pics people took of me, I'll try to also find a good full body shot if I can. Also included is the build of the helmet

Transformers Build (Sideswipe) Finished! Pics on Pg 2

I'll have to try digging a little deeper then because I have seen a few of those. As for the feet I already have the wheels partially built and I'll include those in the next update. That will probably be tomorrow night as I'm going to orientation for college tomorrow. It's crunch time now!

Transformers Build (Sideswipe) Finished! Pics on Pg 2

Glad you like it :D and no this I did not know. When searching for reference pics I may have found only one other costume done of Sideswipe. Transformers in general seemed to not be built often. Thanks for the link though, I'll have to head over and check it out.

Transformers Build (Sideswipe) Finished! Pics on Pg 2

Thanks! And for that I'm thinking I'll build a rough framework around by head using tape first so as to not hot glue myself. Then stuff the frame with newspaper and build off of that.

Transformers Build (Sideswipe) Finished! Pics on Pg 2

So I work at a movie theatre in Wichita, KS. We often like to do a lot of fun promotions for movies (such as dressing up as pirates for a week quite recently.) Before I was working there a few years back some of my friends had made Transformers costumes. So naturally this must be done again...

    Daft Punk Guy-Manuel Build(help?)

Well I seem to have hit a slight speed bump with my helmet... While I have the entire visor rondoed and smoothed, as well as most of the rest of the helm, the visor is giving m a slight problem. After smoothing in and checking the fit against the helmet it seem to have bowed out to the sides a...

    Daft Punk helmet

Wow your helmet looks awesome!hope mine turns out this well. Used a dremel to cut mine out, can't imagine doing that with a saw XP. Lemme know how your vacuum forming goes as I'll be trying that fairly soon hopefully and may need to pointers!

    Daft Punk Guy-Manuel Build(help?)

UPDATE: I've managed to get quite a bit done today, been working sense I got off school. I've managed to cut out the visor (keeping it thin on the sides helped a ton!), begin rounding the edges of the visor, and start building up the lip on the helmet to hold the visor in place. Think I'll pour...

    DP-Guy Manuel, in progress

Looking good so far, nice to see someone else taking a crack at a DP helmet. Pep looks clean so far. Just take it slow when you get to the visor so it stays symetrical.

    Daft Punk Guy-Manuel Build(help?)

Thanks! @wtfmkr I never thought of dying the rondo different colors but makes sense and think I'll try it when I'm pouring a few layers on the inside. Here's an update with some pics! Also the reason for the non-rondoed sides is to keep the visor thinner there so that it's easier to cut out...

    Daft Punk Guy-Manuel Build(help?)

Yea I'm doing the traditional(or was atleast when I joined) fiberglass on the inside with sanded down layers of rondo on the outside for those lovely curves ;). Staying up late tonight to finish applying all the sections of rondo at once and then do all the sanding on the visor this weekend...
