Hey guys n' gals, I finished putting Bondo on my Mark six helmet and Now I'm Ready to sand. For going through, and doing basic shaping, I was thinkning of using a coarse 80-100 grit sandpaper. after your done shaping you use increasingly finer grits and I was just wondering how many other grits people usually use to get a nice smooth finish and how high they go. Thanks!

There's other threads on this. But I used 50-80 to sand down the big chunks, then 120 to get the surface all even, then 220 for smoothing it. Check my Mk V thread and see if its smooth ebough for your liking. I've heard if you go too high of a grit that the paint won't stick as well. Makes sense right? :) good luck!
