Booth:
One of the folks at Bruce County Comicon saw out booth at the London Comicon this past fall and would be thrilled to have us out with a similar setup! They will give us the space we need for Halo cosplayers, space for a halo-themed photo backdrop, and space for us to display props and helmets. We are confirmed for a space 16' wide. Free entry will be provided for costumers and handlers. A secure changing/staging area can also be provided. Below is a schematic of the planned booth:

Setup will happen Friday, July 11 between 4 PM and 8 PM. We are in spot G3 on the map (see Floorplan heading).

Photoshoot
This event takes place near the beautiful shoreline of Lake Huron! The current list of attending members are planning to do a small photoshoot together on Friday night! Location and details are all a work in progress. If you are interested in joining this photoshoot, make sure you communicate that to me so I can give you the details!

Final Thoughts:
I'll be making the drive up from Windsor to put on the booth. I'd love for some other folks to come with! It's a smaller convention so it's alright if we have a smaller crew. I hope we can introduce Halo cosplay to the folks in Bruce County and expand our regiment!

As far as booth resources go, I have a backdrop, retractable banner, and horizontal banner I borrowed from our dear friends in the Midwest regiment. I have a decent collection of props to display, as well as a few helmets and plenty of helmet stands. I have 405th Stickers and business cards. I have division and regiment flags as well. What I would love from you guys is to see folks willing to help set up the booth and show off their awesome cosplays and props for the day.

Our ultimate goal with convention booths is to show the public the awesome things they are able to achieve with the help of the 405th. Initially they are drawn to our booth because of the super awesome props and costumes you have created, and from there we can encourage them to check out the forums, get a-craftin', and build their own character. If encouraging folks to discover the joy we've found in making costumes and props is something you'd like to do, then please consider coming out to this event.

Reach out to me if you have any questions/concerns about this event at all! I'd be happy to answer them as best I can.

Oh, sweet! I’m actually covering the convention again this year with a friend as part of my media production group, so I’ll definitely be there! Not sure how much I’ll be able to help out or have props on display though since I might have my hands full, but I’ll have a better idea closer to the date as we sort out logistics. Last year’s event was run really well and had a pretty crazy attendance for a first-time con out in the middle of nowhere.

I’ll have to check in with the organizers and my buddy to figure out what we’ll be doing in terms of coverage. It’s a small venue, and last time we wrapped up early, so we had some downtime to shoot and chill a bit. It'd be nice if there's other members who could come out.

Thank you all who helped make the 405th presence at Bruce County Comic Con a MASSIVE SUCCESS!!

Thank you to all who help contribute to the 405th booth, and to all who came out to event and got pictures with us! I hope our presence inspired the folks of Southampton to build their own props and costumes from Halo with the help of the 405th Infantry Division!

If you took photos for this event, please upload them to this shared google drive linked below so we can all see them. There should be a folder in there with you name on it, simply upload your files to that folder. If you wish to post someone else's photos on social media, just make sure you ask that person first, and also give them the proper tag.

And now, a bit of a message I sent to celmor1785 and MasterBlaster, but I'd like to share here as well.

Thank you so so much for all the effort you put in to this weekend. You have both extended to much grace towards me that I will never be able to pay back, I can only hope to pay it forward.
Right now the Canadian regiment is small, but growing! I am so glad that it was you guys who put together our first booth appearance. If the Canadian regiment has more people like you, what a beautiful place it would be!
So many people were so excited to see your suits, props, and just get to talk to you guys this weekend.
The 405th is a community, YOU are the community, and YOU are what makes it such a great place to be. It’s not the name, or how much stuff one person can build, it’s the fact that we can be Spartans, Marines, and ODST’s TOGETHER.
I can't wait to do it all again soon.

Now for the rest of you who are reading but may not have attended, here's some photos:

Thank you so much for hosting and organizing! I wish I could have spent more time hanging out with you all and suit up but I got caught up with doing the media stuff and being on standby. Hopefully next time though!!

I'm glad I was able to display my AR and Marine armor, my little contribution alongside the photos and video clips haha.
