Official Communication During the Event
This thread will be used for all of our planning leading up to the event. For more instant-communication during the event, please use the official 405th Discord. You can join the discord here. A Fan Expo Canada thread will be created on the discord a few days before the event.
Final Thoughts:
This is our chance to help the Canadian Regiment grow and flourish! Over 135,000 people attended Fan Expo Canada in Toronto last year! If we get out there and yap non-stop about this awesome place we call the 405th, I am sure that we can get even more Canadians interested in Halo cosplay and participating in the community.
Our ultimate goal with convention booths is to show the public the awesome things they are able to achieve with the help of the 405th. Initially they are drawn to our booth because of the super awesome props and costumes you have created, and from there we can encourage them to check out the forums, get a-craftin', and build their own character. If encouraging folks to discover the joy we've found in making costumes and props is something you'd like to do, then please consider coming out to this event.
There isn't a ton of really big outreach opportunities like this one for the Canadian Regiment, so we have to make Fan Expo count. I'm hoping for a BIG bump in membership this year. But it can't happen without YOU. I'd love to see some help from you neighbouring folks in the Midwest especially. If you have the means to make the trek north to Toronto, I'd be honoured to have your help in spreading the word about the 405th. The 405th is a world-wide community after all, let's use that to our advantage!

Booth:
Booth Location
Booth is confirmed! A space of 10'x20' (or some slight variation of that) has been granted to us! Booth location is L68, in the hallway of the South building (same area as last year). Click on this map to expand it:
Exhibitor Badges
We have been granted 12 exhibitor badges! As of August 11, 11 have been assigned to attending members. Anyone over the 12 will have to buy their own exhibitor badge for $95, or buy their own general admission badge.
Please note, I'll always encourage folks to go out and explore and enjoy the con! At the same time, if you are granted an exhibitor badge, representing the 405th should be your priority. We will all work together to make sure the booth is manned throughout the entirety of the convention, while making sure you enjoy the show.
Booth Layout/Floorplan
Feedback and ideas for booth layout are welcome! Based on our location and what's worked well at past conventions, I think this is a good starting point. I will be bringing the backdrop, retractable banner, floor sign, prop rack, table cloths, business cards, acrylic tabletop signs, helmet stands, and a good assortment of helmets and props to display. Please bring your props and helmets you wish to display as well!
Booth Load-in Information
We are in Load-in zone 5. Load-in is Wednesday, August 20, 4PM-8PM. If we need to use the loading dock, we must book in advance. If we don't want to bother with the hassle of using the loading dock, there are two freight elevators located in hall F (see map above) that we can use within our load-in time. These elevators go straight to the parking garage above the south building.
Exhibitor Operating Guidelines
This is more just for staff, but I'm posting it here to keep everything in one place.
