First armor Mark V [B]

Currently building my first suit of armor and trying to figure out the boots. I'm using Galactic Armory's Noble 6 armor files. To me, it looks like the boots are all supposed to be one big piece, but I don't think I'd be able to walk in them. I currently plan on putting a slip on shoe in and strapping it all together this way.

I recommend using elastic strapping!
It flexes around your foot and snaps back in place with movement. also makes it easier to walk, as the pieces won't be locked in one place.

You’ve got the right understanding. The Noble boot files are armor that’s meant to be sized and built around whatever shoe you decide to wear.

Before committing to full prints, it's helpful to do a test print of a toe or heel piece. Fit it over the exact shoe you plan to use and check alignment and proportions. Once that sits where it should, lock the scale and move forward with the rest of the parts.

For attachment, most people have good luck with:

  • Shoe Goo or E6000 for toe and heel pieces that don’t need to move
  • Industrial Velcro or elastic straps on the upper/instep areas so the foot can flex naturally
  • If you don’t mind sacrificing the shoe, a couple of small hidden screws into the sole work well and disappear once everything’s assembled

That combo keeps the armor solid without fighting your foot when you walk.

You’re already approaching it the right way, getting the shoe and scale sorted early makes the rest of the boot build pretty straightforward.
