Halo 4 Scout Build

Hi fellow 405th members! I've been hard at work and now I am able to share what i have been working on with everyone here. For the past few months I have been learning the methods of using Pepakura and building Halo armor which has been a dream of mine since the first Halo game. I'm building to attend Youmacon. The Scout armor has been my go to armor of choice. It took a couple of but here is my first build guys.

Build Process:
Helmet: Done
Chest: Peped (Next hardening)
Shoulders:
Forearms:
Legs:
Boots: In the works
Butt Piece: In the works

To start things off, I'll show some of my detail process. Lets just say Bondo can get kinda messy. The gray on the helmet is primer of course :)

So i ran into an issue. After i sprayed my original choice of color Yellow, the paint started to peel off the Primer sadly :cry but no need to be sad because after spraying the yellow i realized i didn't quite want yellow armor. I put the original visor i planned on using in as a test fit to see how the helmet would look.

I ended up sanding all of the yellow off of the helmet and spraying it Gunmetal Grey.

So i figured i would post the begining pictures of how the pep came out for my Scout helmet. As well as practice helmets i peped, which i plan on doing builds for the other helmets as well :) I coated the helmets on the outside with XTC-3D and slush cast the inside with Smooth Cast 300.

Always nice to see more Scouts join the ranks, I have to get working on my helmet lol. I'm using the same file, any tips on what sections to glue together first?

The more Scouts the better i always say haha. I believe i started my way at the top and worked my way down with this file. I honestly believe you can start from anywhere and not have issues. MasterBuilder created a great pep file. I must say the back circular piece is the only thing i had issues with. But the rest was smooth sailing :)

Thanks for the tip! I keep putting off the pep work lol.

can you tell me where you got your template, or whatever its called for your helmet and all that? im not sure what it is and im new and would like to make this. can you help me out?

You did a great job on the helmet! Might i suggest if your not already using it using Smooth-Cast300? Its going to be a little more $, But the end result i find is much better and i takes a good 25 Pounds off the finished set of armor or more. It is also nice and smooth finish inside (Hence the name SmoothCast lol) and it is very durable. Also i find it to be sooo much more easy to work with then the typical fiberglass sheets. I plan on buying another bottle for my 1st Order Stormtrooper build its well worth the money! Anyways looking forward to the finished build. Subscribed! :)

That scout costume looks amazing. The scout armour is the best type ( I happen to be making one also but mine is out of EVA foam). The scout helmet has one of the best range of vision out of all the helmets types.
