Anyhow. It scares me a little. Halo 3 was an epic end to an epic trilogy, as much as I'd love a Halo 4, I REALLY wouldn't want bungie to screw it up by just trying to release a game, not improving much, and trying to carry out a dead plot. We will cross our fingers and see!

Haven't Microsoft got the rights to make Halo games and Bungie have moved on to something else?
Anyways I doubt that Halo 4 would be announced any time soon.
They might on the other hand mention something about Halo Chronicles, the Peter Jackson project, at E3.

I dont think there with be a "halo 4" its more appropriate to call it "the next halo" because, last i heard, there are 2 more games coming, halo wars, and halo chronicles

yeah, its better to be called the next halo, as halo 3 was the last in the trilogy, and halo 4 sounds stupid anyway

Yeah. So much for the Star Wars trilogy... that had about 6 or 7 episodes. trilogy doesnt mean its over at 3.

BUNGiE still retains most of the rights to the Halo franchise, with M$ owning a decent amount of the series. I think it's something like 30% M$ and 70% BUNGiE.

One of my friend's dads works for M$ Game Studios, and they said that BUNGiE is doing something completely new. No Marathon, no Halo, no ONI, Myth, Gnop, anything that they've done before.

Which is good. 'Cause that means that BUNGiE has been doing something other than squandering the Halo profits on icecream.

I'll give it 50:1 odds that it isn't Halo 4, 10:1 that it is Halo related, and 2:1 that it is completely new.

well as for Star Wars that was cut into 2 trilogy, (4,5,6) (1,2,3), Lucas considered it the Tale of Anakin and the Tale of Luke.

If there is another Halo game coming out (halo wars, or chronicles) but a new halo genre game i dont think bungie would be doing it.

For starters they said the trilogy is over and the feel that it is complete.

Second I believe Microsoft has retained the rights. (although no ones truly knows what happened to the rights) Now only way i see something happening is if Microsoft makes yet another deal with bungie to work on the Halo game.

other than that i dont see one in the near near furture.

yeah...i think that it will be the true 4th halo but not the halo we are used to.the story will probably be told from like a marine or something.and we have to remeber that in the book they mentioned a gray team on top of blue,green and red teams.so the story could be from they're point of veiw in the human-covanet war.

I would personally like to see a sort of multiplayer styled game, along the lines of Battlefront and BattleField series. Be able to play as one of a bunch of different classes.

Marathon, Marathon: Durandal, and Marathon: Infinity. Three games so far, missing the 4th.

I would, personally, hate a Halo 4. The ending to Halo 3 leaves so many theories to be made about what happens, there's no point in closing it.

They should let the Master Chief story arc rest. The Halo universe has SO much that could be explored...A Ghosts of Onyx game IMO would be pretty sweet. Or maybe some backstory on the Covenant, Forerunners, or Flood.
