Rays files are amazing, and this build is looking insane, I really wanna do Mk VII as my build after Chief. I’m loving the new purple Spartan Griffin armor.

Definitely, his files are great! I'm stoked to be working with him, hopefully once he releases the files we'll see lots of other people make some mk7 suits as well!

That's looking great. But one question. Will you make an under suit? People always make the armor, but what about the clothes? I'm currently working on a suit, and will try my best at making the under suit.

Short answer: Yes! Long answer: I'll definitely be making an undersuit for this build, however it's likely one of the last steps that'll occur. On top of that, I don't have a ton of experience with making them, so it'll probably take a bit of time. I'll basically need to learn how to properly sew as well, so it will definitely be an experience.

I'm glad to hear you will. My own thoughts. Buying a skin suit and laying shiny vinyl over might look good. Maybe thin EVA foam too.

I was thinking about just getting a morph suit and making some templates, then sewing on some faux leather, I like the look of undersuits and that fake leather material, I'd probably use multiple materials to mix it up and give it texture

Been a bit since I posted a progress update, but both arms are finally finished! That makes both arms and both legs complete. I'll do a photoshoot soon of all of the pieces so far when it's not all rainy outside.

Thanks! But I can't take cred for the metal strip idea, that would be the genius of Ray (Makyr studios) who also happens to be the creator of these beautiful files. He used the same technique for his infinite chief build.

I use a Cr-10s Pro V2. Very nice printer.

These prints are CRISP. Consider me impressed! Are you still going to do any post-processing? It doesn't look like it really needs it haha

I'll be coating all of the prints in a resin called xtc3D. This strengthens the prints as well as fills in the layer lines and makes it overall easier to sand. Then after that I'll use filler/sandable primer as a cherry on top to make it ultra smooth.

If you can manage to create 3D bracket with larger surface area and bolt that strip of metal in place it'll last longer and be more convention proof. I had a similar setup on Daisy's CQB shoulder with a strip of metal epoxied between the bicep and the shoulder plate and a few overly touchy (people like to slap shoulder armour, it's weird) convention goers popped the epoxy join free fairly quickly.

Most likely, unless i get files for the inner thighs as well, but it should be easy enough to do out of foam

Helmet is finished printing! It'll be a chore to Make it nice and smooth, but as always I'll update you guys as I make progress!
