Also there are physical prizes you get from the scavenger hunt in the app. There are little scannables hidden throughout the con, and they give you xp. I dont know what the xp does, but I do know that some activities land you prizes like dogtags... also the app is the only way to have the scedual and location of events and panels. I didnt know this until the last day

There seems to be a lot going on at this thing xD, I'm glad to see they appear to be really leaning into it.

There is a lot going on, but it also feels rushed. It was a huge area with not a lot to do, and fairly long lines. Some of the events were neat, but not worth the wait by any means, and some were absolutely worth it. I feel like if there was more information and the event was better planned it would have gone better. If there were more things to do and more things to look at, the lines would have been smaller and alot more enjoyable. I loved the event, but people walked into it without knowing anything thing, and that is why they are disappointed. Keep in mind this was a test run, and it can only get better.

The thing I hated the most is they got people to represent the community. They must have been people Microsoft endorsed and paid for based on there reputation and backstory, and their attire, but they had no idea how to play or even use a controller. Their aim was bad and noone sprinted, and would refuse to pick up oversheild. It was unbearable to watch the 3v3 XD

AND THEN they played unescorted gaming's wipeout parkour map and had no idea how to stabalize, thrust, groundpound, or parkour. They even loaded the wrong game mode. Aauauauaghh! It was funny to critique but hurt to watch...
Everything else was great though!

The customization for items can be done on almost every fabric item aside from the hats. The printing can be done in black or white and both look best on different items. One important thing to note is that the $20 gets you two customizations, usually one nameplate and one logo but you can get two nameplates if you ask.

The dog tags are meant for attendees after completing challenges and winning certain events and there is a special VIP tag which is your starter tag. There's also different levels of tags since there is supposed to be an order in which things can be unlocked (Owen - Bronze, Hazel - Silver, Gabriella - Gold and a few others) but exhibitors such as the 405th aren't supposed to be able to win these tags since there's no barcode to scan on our badges. Some members in Philadelphia worked along with the event staff and the staff gave tags as gestures of thanks which was very nice of them but totally not required.

There's also a few other secrets that can be acquired throughout the event but I'm a man that believes in keeping spoilers to a minimum.

are there fan made products Kinda like a con where ppl have booths set up with paintings or other items then the licensed stuff.
There is a vendors area of non-official Halo merch and other displays by groups in the community. At Outpost Philadelphia there was a table for Tri Forged Studios (makes props and armour kits), Falcon's Creative Group (designed some attractions at Outpost), food vendors, general nerd merch vendors and the US Army.

Any chance of obtaining the merch outside of HOD?
I don't have a means to do so, I found those on a forum post. I can try to get the stuff when I go next weekend, but I can't make any promises.
