Odd storyline, but...eh. I can't really stop you from making it.

You could make the ring out of wood, cut it into segments, then set it up so that they're held together by pegs...if that explanation makes sense to you.

For the explosion itself, you could either go the classic route and use pyrotechnics (if allowed, of course) or have say, strings to pull the ring apart (the segments make it easier to fall apart either way) and use a movie editing program to slap an explosion on there.

Or you could just animate it.

And NZ-TK...that picture makes me want to animate a Halo / Star Wars crossover...if I had any animation skills..or software, for that matter. Heh.

Fireworks would just make a loud noise and shred the ring. If thats the effect your looking for, go at it. But you could get some explosion clips on the net that were done on a black background. All you need to do is set the transparency to black and then overlay it on the video of the ring.

EDIT: Also, why would there be kids on halo? and halo cannot hava a core... i mean it's a ring, Core?!
and i think it wouldnt be nice to add snake thingies into the game because it would not fit into the halo universe

dude it doesn't have a core.... okay normal a agree but in halo 2 the laboratory in which your the arbiter is basically in the middle

also with the snake thingys it could be a new flood type??~?~?
